Heater duct problems

Long time reader first time member. I would like to thank the members for so much info. Has help me with 2 other Dodge Diesels a 92 and a 97 both very good trucks. Now problem at hand, my A\C and heater ducts will not work on anything but vent and defrost. Can some tell me how they are controlled. I have shop cd on the way. Thanks in advance.

Had same problem, there is a door behind the dash that is broken. The dealer had to drop the steering column and pull the whole dash to fix it. I was reluctant to do it at first but they did fine job. I am glad i had it fixed now. Get it fixed before winter, your feet will freeze and it will be so hot around head level that you can't breath.

I had the exact same problem and the fix was same as Beer mans. They did a great job and it works perfect now.

Ditto to what BeerMan and PrairieDog said. Get if fixed or your feet will freeze while you suffocate.

Sounds like you gentlemen had better luck than I. Had an 03 2500 Hemi that had the same problem, dealer had the dash out 3 times. The last time they put it back they fixed it but damaged the dash so bad that DC did a buy back . Thats how I ended up buying my CTD . Holding my breath on the heater door on his one. Good luck on getting it fixed, look it over good before you leave the dealership.
