I'll try to give the background briefly.

My truck was stock until recently. No problems, always ran great. Then I had the great idea to fix something that wasn't broke.

I added the Juice W/ attitude. Seemed to work nicely for about the first 5 starts, and 400 miles or so. Then one morning I started it and it ran super rough for about 15 seconds till it shut itself off. I restarted it and everything was fine. I did not think to check for codes at that point.

Next morning same thing, except I did check for codes and found the P0088 Code. So I decided to remove the Juice. I did so, and things seemed to be fine, except for the check engine light stayed on. After about 5 more starts the Check Engine light went out. Everything seemed cool.

So the truck sat for about 3 weeks now, and when I started it yesterday it started a little rough, and didn't smooth out. Sounds like a ford at idle. It smooths out under a load, like during acceleration, but sounds like shi* at an idle. Check engine light is back on.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. I am so ****** at myself for ever adding anything at all.

I had a different code when changing low boost setting while driving and she died(can't remember the#), but the truck ran fine after restart. I have read and would try checking all of your connections and see what happens. Maybe a bad or incomplete connection is causing the rough running with and without the box. Best of luck, Ryan.

Thanks for the reply Ryan. I have checked and rechecked the connections. I think I just need to take it in, but when they see that P088 Code, I suppose all talk of warranty is over.

sounds like a stuck injector. Do you hear a nocking noise. Do you have a harder time starting it. If so that may be the problem. I had an injector do the same thing till it would not start.

SKing, thanks for the idea. You cou. ld say there is a knock. But it starts fine. Must not be common based on the # of responses

I have the exact same problem. I put a p. o. s. Dr performance stage 3 on and mine is knocking now at idle and thru the rpm range. I did take mine to dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong. I think they are full of it. It is obvious to everyone who listens to it, that there is a tick or abnormal knock.

Oh yeah it runs fine mileage seems to be a little lower though.

I just drove it on a 60 mile round trip to town and back. Power seems fine, mileage seems fine. I don't know what to do.

This truck will be going to the dealer on Tuesday I guess. Now it is also showing a p0514 code, which I understand to be a common faulty code. The truck sounds okay at highway speeds, either that or you just don't hear it any more.

I talked to edge and they say to send the juice in and they will check it, but it is unlikely that the unit caused it. The problem I now have is that I am out $700 for the unit, which I believe started this mess, and I also get to go spend $$ to correct the problems caused. I don't even want the damn box now.

I spoke with someone today that suggested to disconnect your batteries for an hour then hook them back up and that should reset your computer and cure your problem if its computer related.

I did disconnect the batteries today and it did not help. Thanks for the tip though. The only good news today is that the vender is accepting the unit as a return and giving me a refund. I need to get their name and post it, they've been great. So I have a wednesday appt for the truck. I post the follow up.

I had similar issues with my edge juice. I didn't get any codes though but the truck idles like crap with the box installed. Now that I've removed it, it still idles like crap.

I just talked to dodge, and they say it is the fuel control Actuator. Apparently at idle the rail pressure should be like 5000, and mine was like 26000.

Anybody know if this is a warranty item? They say not, but when I started asking questions they went to looking stuff up. I am waiting for a call back. So if anyone knows off the top of their head, please share quickly so I know whether or not to argue the point. Cost is 272. 50, so it's not too crazy but still.

Total bill was 272. 50, which included 140 for the part, not 272. Was not covered by warranty. I have nomidea whether or not the Juice had any bearing on this. Apparently the actuator stuck in an open position. Tech says replacement of this part is very rare. Who knows, hope noone ever needs to find out

I doubt it was the Edge Juice that caused the high pressure. Remeber the Edge Juice on levels 0 - 5 only affects timing and duration. The Hot mode level 6 adds fuel pressure.

I have an Edge juice on my 06 and I don't have any problems. However, i should mention that my tow haul mode went wacky. The dealer pointed to my Edge and said no warrenty. Then I fought back a bit and the dug deeper and found my TCM (part of the ECM PCM) was a goner. They admitted Edge had nothing to do with it and replaced the entire ECM-PCM-TCM.

I had my FCA replaced at 96000 miles under warranty along with the #1 injector. . Thats not right, why will one dealer due it under warranty and one charge for it. When my FCA was acting up it was like a race car at idle, it sounded like it had a big cam in it. After looking at my recept here it states TSB replace fuel actuator then in the charge box it has warranty. I would be happy to fax you a copy. It only has 3 stains on it. I did have 3 oil leaks and some other repairs done on the ticket and it was all done for the $100 deductable.

The engine and fuel system are covered up to 100k and if UNDER 5 years is a O deductable! Powertrain(diffs, trans etc. )are the $100 deduct. But NOT fuel system or Cummins engine until past the 5 year mark. Dealers keep charging the $100 deduct on engine and fuel system as if its the powertrain warranty and its two differant areas. The FCA is part of the CP3 and is covered under fuel system warranty.

Well I went to a friend at a competing dodge dealer and he ran the stuff and gave me the paperwork to prove it is in fact covered. I took that paperwork to the dealer that fixed the truck. After a lengthy discussion with the service writer, I went to the service manager. He took a copy of my stuff and said he'd look into it. After not hearing back from him, I called him and found out that he found out it IS covered. So now he assures me that when Chrysler pays him, he'll refund me my money. I am a bit pi**ed about having to wait, but I am trying to maintain my patience.

What a big PITA! Now they are acting like I am impossible to please. I have been very patient and chosen my words carefully. This dealer is Mark Thomas Motors in Albany Oregon. If you need diesel service I would not go there. I do not intend to bad mouth them, but if it helps someone avoid this type of headache, I guess I owe it to you all.

If it was me, I would have said no to that. It was covered under warranty. They need to cut you a check, credit your credit card, or give you cash back on the spot.

I'd go back and take one more step up the chain of command. talk to the owner/manager and explain that you would like a refund now for services that should have been covered under warranty inthe first place.

In regard to the Edge Juice. That could not have caused your problem. There are very few issues with the Juice on CTD's. I had one on both of my previous trucks with no related issues. I threw a code once and Edge next dayed me a new module even though, like your issue, the code was not related.

Yeah, I am sure you are correct about the Juice. And I am not happy at all about waiting. And it's not the money, but the point of the warranty matter. I am just hoping that they make the ignorant arrogant service writer call me back to get me my credit. That would be worth the wait.

Suck part of the whole deal is that without my leg work, they would have gotten away with it. How many times have they gotten away with this sort of thing? How many people just take their word on these issues and pay and then forget. I sure have been educated on the issue!

Usually lack of experience and not reading their policy and prochedures manual. A GOOD service manager catches these mistakes and informs the service advisors. I'm not sure that when they run the vehicles warranty history and what warranty is still in affect if it shows deductables but I think it does! If thats the case "THEY" ought to know this at time of write up to coverges and deductables.
