Help my truck was stolen again

On my gasers if I'm in a bad neighborhood I'll pull the button out of my distributor. Well now you can't even do that anymore.



Anything simple you can do on the CTD's like this?



My friend with a 66 shelby actually takes the steering wheel off when he goes anywhere and takes it with him.

How about a fuel cut off switch . That way, you will catch them before the end of the street. I would think that would be a rather simple fix, and be about $10 for the switch and wire.

My advice get 2 dobermen's been owners of those dogs for years, or get a rotweiller, very good also. .

My advice get truck back, have alarm or cutoff switch installed before parking it back in the drive, first week back sleep in truck until dog comes, then if they want to steal it, introduce them to some lead, but first buy a silencer.

Im with the idea of moving, here guns are about the same ratio, here alone we have 20+ in the house and live on a dirt road out in the boonies so that alone is a deterant.

I know it isn't legal but I would find away to have a bad um ground that can be shut off. When it is on any one touching it will light up. Or any other way to booby trap it.

How about the relay interrupts sold by mobilistics.com? They plug right in and replace your current relays so it's not obvious what you've done to prevent starting. You can stop the fuel pump and the starter relay. Anyone have any experience with these? Group buy anyone? I'm ready to buy cause if someone steals my 04 I'm gonna cry.

A friend of mine did this on his mid 80's suburban and i am in the process of trying to do it on my truck... Get a coil out of an old chevy HEI ignition system... Wire it through the ignition switch and a toggle switch and then run a spark plug wire (u can buy it in bulk) into the cab and up through the bottom of the drivers seat..... If someone doesnt turn the toggle switch off before trying to start the truck... WHAM. . 60k volts right to the crotch... U might forget to flip the switch before starting her up. . but u wont do it but once...

I found a wallet of another guy in my truck. His truck was stolen the same night. Funny thing is bolth trucks were purchased at Towbin. Coincedence ???

Tell us a little more about the EVS-II with IT-S you have listed in your sig, did you order your truck that way or ad it later?

EVS-II is a Mopar dealer accessory that provides the Sentry Key system for trucks that didn't have it installed at the factory. You can buy it from the dealer or buy it online, but the dealer needs to be involved with the install to activate the Sentry system in your computer. My dealer charged me about $250 installed. You will receive two Sentry keys that have an RFID chip inside with the kit. You can then purchase additional Sentry keys on ebay or from your local locksmith and program them yourself. Instructions are in the Owner's Manual.

The only downside to the EVS-II system is that you have to use the keyless FOB to unlock the truck, as there is no Sentry reader installed at the driver's door key lock like on the factory installed trucks. If you use the key to unlock the door, the alarm will sound. Also, the Interior Theft Sensor (IT-S) that comes with the kit is pretty much useless. It is designed to activate the alarm when it senses shock such as glass breakage, etc. However, it is almost impossible to set the sensitivity so that it will sound during an actual breakin, but not have numerous false alarms from trucks driving by, etc. I unplugged my IT-S, but can plug it back in if I leave the truck in a "bad neighborhood".

Hrmm, check out this email that was circulating-

Seems that car thieves have found yet another way to

steal your car or truck without any effort at all.

The car thieves peer through the windshield of your

car or truck, write down the VIN # from the label on

the dash, go to the local car dealership and request a

duplicate key based on the VIN #. I didn't believe this

e-mail, so I called a Dodge dealer and pretended I had

lost my keys. They told me to just bring in the VIN #,

and they would cut me one on the spot, and I could

order the keyless device if I wanted. The Car Dealer's

Parts Department will make a duplicate key from the

VIN #, and collect payment from the thief who will

return to your car.

Parts departments are suppose to ask for drivers license, registration and also verify ownership but seems some are not.

I didn't know you could add that. I may look into that because I feel the factory system would be harder to steal the truck than an aftermarket.
