O. K. ordered a new e-brake to install it on my 02, but seems the vacuum canister is mattached to the brake elbow pointing down if you are looking at it on the turbo. I remember seeing the same brake on other trucks, and the reservoir/ actuator canister was pointed toward the hood. Or I am confused? Please, any of you with this factory approved brake comment on it. I really want to do the installation right, and have all the questions figured out before I even start. I ordered the shifter mounted switch for it too. Is it difficult to install, and are new valve springs required? Thanks. Ilian

Mine points towards the cab and down. It's a pretty easy install other than getting the pins in the ECM plug can be a pain. You do NOT need different valve springs on the 24 valve engine. Good luck, you'll love the brake.

Yeah, I remember putting the pin in the ECM plug to be the only really hard part, too. I ended up unbolting the fuel filter cansiter and pushing it aside to get a little more room to work.

PC12Driver, does the E-brake bolt behind your HTB2/12? I was considering slightli bigger turbo, as I plan on installing Mach 1. 6 or RV275 injectors. I think those can work with stock turbo.

Nope, they don't match up. The HTB2 uses the HX40 style clamp-on downpipe, so my e-brake is currently sitting on the shelf.

My Mach 2s and EZ worked great with the stock turbo. The HX35/12 is good for about 330-350hp. It'll be just fine with the 1. 6s or 275s. Are you planning on a box or a Smarty?

Yes, a Smarty definately. I will install a better fuel system- either the 392 kit from Glacier, or Airdog. Clutch will go in pretty soon, the ConOFE from SBC,it will probably be the first thing actually. So you think even the Mach2 will be fine with the stock turbo/e-brake set-up?
