First off I'll start by sayin that I'm a 12 valve guy, but one of my buddies has an 02 24 valve that the lift pump is going out on. The pump thats in it is in the fuel tank, and has at least 120,000 miles on it because he never changed it and thats now many he's put on. All he does is drive and tow, no power adders or anything like that. I'm having trouble finding the in tank pump for his truck, everything i find is the insert deal for the tank that doesnt have the pump with it. So could anyone point me in the right direction please? I couldnt really find anything in my search on finding it. I have been trying to talk him into going raptor or airdog, but he doesnt want to spend that much money...

I don't think the pump is in the tank unless it was changed out already. I believe Chrysler started retrofitting them to the tank around 2004. Follow the fuel line back from the VP and I think you will find it about 6 inches to the rear of the injection pump. If you just replace the stock pump make sure you put in a fuel pressure guage or a low pressure light. It's worth the hundred or so dollars to save a two thousand dollar injection pump later.

Yeah the pumps in the tank. He had to change it a couple years ago and remembers seeing it, plus it just has the manifold block where the stock pump should be. We have to put it in yet, which we will here when we do the pump, I have a low pressure light, but I put my gauge on to actually check the pressure.

Do a fass And he'll be good for a loooonngg time. Another stock pump in any location is a band aid for an amputated arm.
