Competition Hemi vs. HO

What kind of 1/4 mile time would you expect a stock 03' Hemi pickup to run, vs. a stock CTD H/O ?

The OEM delivered HO is going to be slower no matter what.



The Cummins is dang heavy compared to that gasser.

I figured the Hemi would be quicker, but what do you think 16 secs. for the 03 Hemi, vs. 17 for the 03 HO???

Guy @ work here just bought a Hemi, wants to race. I said sure. Go find 2 towable 7k lb somethings & let's go.

I ran a Hemi with my 99 and beat him he had a 16. ? time to my 15? time I beat him by at least 2 truck lengths. Mind you the only stock parts were the mats as they say. I had DD2's hx35 with14cm housing, 4" exhaust Edge EZ ans a Mega cannon style K&N air filter & a piers cam with dtt mods to the trans. He asked if my truck was stock and I told him they were all in stock some were at some time before I bought them. He said he would be back I said bring it on and then got a Piers hx40 Edge drag comp, and Don M's stage 3 EDM's. Then broke the trans for a second time dtt on way out getting a suncoast loaded for bear with a unlimited mileage or hp guaranty. We will see come next season at Englishtown Raceway park. He in for big surprise. :--)

Unless the Hemi you are racing has a huge spray or is being force fed..... I don't think you'll have any problem leaving him in the diesel dust.

Hemi Times

I watched a single cab 03 Hemi run 15. 7, had a paper tag on it still.

yeah what chip did that 15. 7 have? just because he has tags on it still doesnt mean anything i say

There are no chips available for the hemis as of yet. Jus exhaust and air intakes. I know because I got tired of waiting and traded mine in. 15. 7 is slow for a reg cab. There is one reg cab long bed that has run a 14. 02 a couple of times with just an exhaust and intake and a few other tricks. A big help is that youn can disengage the torque management which helps the 2-3 shift a good bit. Stock that shift is terrible. I know my HO is faster than my old hemi and I have outrun a 2wd from 40-80 mph pretty badly after that he woud not pull beside me at the light.
