do those of you with dual axle TT's and 5er's rotate the tires? Front to back on same side or what?

Yea, i've been known to rotate my tires. I criss cross them. It's just not very often.

When radials first came out, reversing direction was a no-no. I was told the tire would take a "set" and it would tear apart should it be reversed. Is there any truth to this and if so is it applicable to todays tires?



From reading the tire threads, it would seem TT are pretty touchy. FWIW, I never rotate trailer tires. Maybe do my truck once or twice in the life of the tire. I put new tires on the truck going into winter. Approaching winter number three, there is not enough tread regardless so off they come.

Modern automotive radials can reversed (look at your owners manual under tire rotation). TT tires, I'd call the manufacturer.

as I recall, that was Firestone's excuse the first time they almost went out of business from blowing up tires. It was the late 70, and the tire was there first radial, the firestone 500!

I rotate but also have two spares so I rotate them also and maintain the same spin/direction.

I don't rotate trailer tires. I haven't kept a trailer long enough to wear them out nor long enough for dryrot. The only tire I've had to replace was one on a pop-up trailer, when I drove non-stop from Florida to Michigan, as fast as I could go.

From what I have heard, on the single rear wheel trucks, you should bring the rears straight forward, then X the fronts back to the opposite side rears.



Not sure about recommendations on trailers.
