i think all this is great. i'm a little slow but i think i have this figured out. if i dyno my truck it doesn't count, but if joe or dd dyno's there truck it counts. so basicly the only accurate dyno in the country is at dd?

Nope, if you dyno your truck IN FRONT OF EVERYONE then it counts. We've got bigger numbers at the shop, but you don't see us posting them... we posted what we did AT THE EVENT.
You better dyno first, just to make sure.

you asked for graph that was bigger than dd's, so i posted mine. you didn't tell me all the rules before i posted it, so sorry for breaking them.
trust me i would have beaten lawerence on sat if the dyno hadn't gave up on us. even if the motor would have failed i would have beat him. keith you can post any #'s you put up and i will never disagree with them, as long as there honest, i trust you guys.
like i said you guys did a great job saturday, and i wish the dyno didn't break, but it did so now the whining starts.
may-madness will be a blast. are you guys going to sled pull in may?

one other thing keith looking at all of the graphs from sat just the dd backed trucks were run in od. it seems that everyone else was in direct. if you guys were to be fair to everyone shouldn't all the trucks be run in od. for my truck shifting into od was the awnser as i picked up almost 40hp on just #2 in idaho when i tried it.

I'm not going to trust you, because I can say the same for us... we'd take the motor out before letting you win. We had a handful of nitrous jets with us too. Isn't competition great?! While I could post numbers we've got here, there is no point. The correction factors are different, etc, so we want to make a big number at the same place and time so we can compare apples to apples. That way it will be fair for both of us. BD vs DD.

Who's whining? We put up the biggest number at the event.

Almost all manuals get dynoed in the 1:1 gear. The exception is the really big turbod trucks. Joes was the only one dynoed in OD on Saturday. This is because normally on the dyno, you will see lower power in OD due to the extra rotational inertia you have to accelerate. This means you'll show less in OD, unless you run a massive turbo that doesn't get up to boost (like Joes).
Steve Covalts truck was run in 5th (6-speed) and made 470 without drugs.
I'll see if I can find a graph to illustrate my point.

as far as dd vs bd whatever. no one has given me anything for my truck for free yet, so it will be little ol me vs DD. to be honest i was disappointed with my #'s in idaho. i had alot more to give her but i had already beat your #'s so there was no point in going any higher.

Keith, you had a chance to clear this up, but it seems you want to BS us here a bit. So if I take what your saying here, you run the Fords in direct because of the speed limiter? Aren't you guys chip programmers? If your any good at it, you can remove the limiter. So why not run the Fords in OD? I'm guessing you ran your Dodge in OD to draw more load on the engine, which will give better (inflated) dyno numbers.
yeah, we are a Superchips dealer. The fact is though that not every truck has a chip. In fact, with our Therminator, we would rather sell that than the chip, so when we dyno a Ford, not all of them have the limiter removed.
We do all of them in 3rd for consistency. If we did the ones with chips in OD, and the ones without in 3rd, you can't compare them.
Right now, IMHO to get comparable numbers you should dyno the trucks in the same relative final gear ratio, or at least as close as possible. For example dyno all 3. 73 rear end ratios in 1:1 transmission ratio, but let Duke with his steap gears use OD. I wouldn’t compare one truck with 3. 73 dynoed in OD to another 3. 73 truck in 1:1 gear.
In the case of the Dodge's, this is not the same. The Dodge's produce higher numbers in OD than in drive, likely because of more boost/load and this extra power overcomes the extra loss from drivetrain inertia.
