Open the hood of any ryder rental f-650 or 750 chassis with the moving van option package beyond the power stroke engine. The only thing this rig has over them is another set of doors for a yuppy soccer mom to rack up miles tranporting her litter of mutts to a soccer game. I couldn't justify that kind of money for a short chassis'ed ryder truck rental crew cab truck with a glorified pickup bed and 20 yards of dead animal hide on the seats.

It will not get anywhere near the mileage of the lighter chassis dodge pickup, you'll only gain slightly better brakes, but the additional curb weight will negate that for the most part.

Nah, not in the least ..... I just like slappin around the genital envy MDT trucks that don't offer much more than a pickup truck in true towing or GVWR. With the cost of fuel as it is, that thing is almost as rediculous as the CXT international is offering now. I'll stick to my tried and true diaper chrysler cummins engine wrapper.

For anything beyond the limits of a pickup truck, I'll stick with my Volvo RV toterhome. 10 mpg empty and 8 mpg loaded. Not to mention a full living area to stay in while on the road/vacation.

We had two matching F750s in the shop all week, both went to the ford dealer today, finally determined it was a ford issue, not a cummins issue with both...

Looks to me as tho' the one pictured has a tilt-up hood - should really make the engine VERY accessable for service as long as the engine is a Cummins and not one of the other alternative engines - and the way the Cummins sits back under the cowl in our Dodges sure doesn't make serious work on them any delight either!

Pics are deceiving, notice how short the hood is? We had 2 in the a shop today, forgot my digital camera though. If there are any tomorrow, I'll get a pic, you can't see an engine from the sides...

That one on ebay would be fun to drive... for about 10 minutes or until you had to try to parallel park it!!



On the other hand, I spent a few days in a 2005 Ford F650 with the Cummins and Allison combo a few months ago. I drove it from L. A. to Chicago, and I LOVED it! Out on the road it's a good truck, but I wouldn't want to drive it in the city much.

Oh... it had the tilt front end too. And the dealer who leased it to us sent it out with the engine oil about 1. 5 quarts LOW! Luckily I check fluid levels.

Now your talking. But when you take it to Home Depot or the shopping center, you will have to park it in the lower forty and take up four spaces.
