I just installed my cover this past week also and it is slick and very easy to install. Just remove the factory hinge and cover assembly, the 2 rubber bump stops, then install the magnetic lock assembly on the new door and using the new bolts and the four exsisting holes on the truck you install it and your done. I think I actually made it sound more complicated then it is. I just fueled up yesterday for the first time since I put it on and it works fine, now you make this cool "click" noise when you get to the pump, AHH just another attention grabbing noise from our trucks.

As if we even needed some more attention gettin' noise. :-laf :-laf

That looks great Scott, I'll havta get one. :D

Where'd ya get the green cap?

Thanks guys, yep, it's a Geno's fuel door.

Like Kalaehina stated, the install is a no brainer. Remove the two hex head bolts that hold the OEM, remove the rubber stops and secure the new one. Mine was slightly off center on one hole, just opened it up a bit, other than that, piece O cake.

The green diesel cap is from Geno's, as is the rubber spill guard. you need to drill a 7/32" hole in it's center, then open it up ( by hand) with a 1/4" bit for the tether to fit. The fuel door has a small hole already in place for the tether.

I'm not real thrilled with the magnetic latch engagement, which is housed in plastic. It's engagement is positive, but I wonder how long it will last. Good thing is that it is bolted to the the door's frame and is easily removed for a new and improved design, if need be.

Even my wife thought it looks great, imagine that.

Awesome Bigsaint!

I have been contemplating the purchase of one of the brushed aluminum covers ever since I received my latest Geno's Garage flyer...

not anymore! :D

Why don't one of you brains come up with a gizmo that you release the door inside the cab????:-laf :-laf :-laf . .

I want one of those doors. .

WHOA!!!

That lil door is thick!

I dig it!

I've found a replacement grille material similar to those of the Kenworth T2000's. I just have to make sure they have an application for the '99-01 (through '02HD trucks) SPORT grilles.

Grille, filler door and the chrome "Dodge" tailgate lettering off of the '02 Ram15000 and I'll be in business.

MAX

Ps. Saint, you're gonna get me in trouble w/ my 'ol lady.

=)

John, just saw a pic. of you engine compartment the other night on another thread, YOU ARE THE MAN !!!

RHARVEY, I don't think it would be that hard, just takes some thinking. All of those slammers have a similar solenoid mounted inside their doors, can't see why something along those lines wouldn't work ???

MAX, LOL @ the wife comment. Hey, you never know, she might just actually approve of it, mine did. ;)

If anyone is curious as to why there is a piece of plastic inside the fuel door housing, it's my 2-3 use throw away diesel mitt. They keep them for anyone that wants them at the refueling station I use.

I SPOKE TOO SOON...

Well Saint... looks like the cosmetics are getting put on hold. I noticed some clutch chatter coming from the rear lsd @ 40,000 miles so I figured it was time to change the oil out back. I gave the Brand A series 2000 75w140 a try and figured I'd now it was time to give LE's 607 a shot.

Pulled the cover, let it drain while I cleaned up the cover, yadda, yadda, button'd it up and waited for the RTV to "skin" when I noticed my RR rotor was oily and its vents were just plain greasy. YEP @ 40K I'm going to be treated to not one but TWO axle seals, a rear brake job as the pads are now ruined and I may even have to buy new parking brake pads so that they don't contaminate my new pads.

Well I hauled tail to my local auto parts shacks as I was not about to put $50 worth of LE oil in only to have it drained by the stealership when the replace my seals. I soon found out that the local part shacks close between 8pm and 10pm, not good at a quarter till 11. Luckily the closest "Wally World" was open so I grabbed $15 worth of the finest they had to offer.

Now 12:40am, back from test drive, all's as well as can be, time to anger the wife by waking her while I hose my greasey hide off. Heck I may even try to get some sleep in b4 it's off to the office.

LOL
