Hey SNOKING Oo. ! I agree, think it's probably okay but is it really necessary ? Mine comes up to temp fast with just the brake on. Keep on eye on those exhaust manifold bolts. Mine always loosen up ( ATS) in the winter when I use the brake for warm ups at idle.

I have contol of the exhaust brake, as it is getting power when I hit the floor (old style head light switch) switch for the DTT Smart Controller and brake switch on. I do not have control of the CTD high idle feature that is enabled. So if it is below around 28-30 I will get high idle automatically. SNOKING

There have been reports of the combination of the exhaust brake and the 3-cylinder mode being too much and causing the engine to quit, but most people I talked to really liked the combination of high idle and exhaust brake. It warms the truck up real quick!

I thought I remembered that happening last year to someone. By the time the engine warms enough to stop 3 cylinder idle the Banks Brake electronics 125 degree cutoff will most likely not bring on the brake if I tried to activate it then. I was thinking about an override switch on the Banks electronic module. SNOKING

I'm in Spokane WA where it often gets to -F... . I start the truck and turn on the exhaust brake... it takes about 1/2 the time to warm up... and this feature is covered in your owners manual if you have a pacbrake... . but they all work the same... . so you should be fine... .
