the other day I took in the instructions or tsb for the 3 cylinder and high idle that i got off this website (thank you guys). I sat there and watched them hook it up to the computer and wondered around the shop while they worked at it. Then paid them 70 some dollars and drove off, but it has been colder than a well diggers *** here in nebraska and it hasn't kicked in even left all night outside unpluged. Did they miss something up or did i get screwed?? Is there any complications with the edge ez?

Did they re flash your ecm? If so the EZ probably should have been off. Otherwise they probably forgot to enable it. That has happened to me twice now. They think just because they re flashed all is good. Make them hook the DRB up and look under MIsc. 3cly high idle.

A little of both (messed up & ripped).

Since you have an 02 the software should have already been present in your ECM. Therefore all they had to do was scroll through the menu with the DRBIII tool and enable it since it is disabled by default. Even if they reflashed your ECM they still must go back in and enable it.

For the high idle to engage you have to let it sit there a bit (30 to 60secs?... . never timed it) and the RPMs will slowly raise. If its cold enough to cut to the 3 cylinder feature you will definatly know when it does. Its very distince engine noise change (might even scare you).

Anytime you reflash the ECM unhook any boxes, it is possible to damage them.

Hope this helps.

Willing to bet they neglected to enable it. Call them. If they don't believe you tell them to call Chrysler. Be persistant.

Basically you got ripped off, they have to input your VIN or hook up your truck to see if any updates are available. When they hooked up your truck they would've been told that nothing was available because you've already got the program. But being the typical know everything Tech and / or service writer they didn't read the procedure and how to enable the program. I went through this a couple of times until I finally held the techs hand and showed him how to do it. The whole time he was saying you don't know what your talking about, your truck doesn't need any updates, I've never heard of anything like that, I've been a mechanic for 20 years I know what I'm talking about crap. When I finally got him to pay attention long enough to show him how to turn it on he said wow, I get it now, what do ya know I learned something from a customer. To that I said, glad I could be of service to ya. Then I walked in by the service manager and told him that I would be sending them a bill for teaching their tech. Needless to say I didn't get charged for it.

i have an edge ez and the high idle enabled cost me $35 it works great the truck can't be pluged in though and the 3 cyl. shut down just kicks a** good luck on getting it to work!!

went to another dealer today and I watched him the whole time and he said he couldn't because dodge would not let them because of some HO sensor my truck has

Where is Brownville? Tell them to call Woodhouse in Blair.
