Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) High Output vs. non HO...

Just curious as to the difference between the High Output and the regular 24 valve? I know HP and torque are higher, but what else? Different injectors? Thanks

Different fuel pump, injectors and compression ratio are the main ingredients.

The S. O. Has 16. 7:1 compression, the H. O. has 17. 3:1 compression. The fuel pump and computer program is different like Mr. Locklier said, and it has hardened replacable valve seats as well. Not to mention the H. O. 's came with a 13" clutch rather than the S. O. 's 12 1/4" clutch.
