Does anyone have paint on their rigs as brittle as mine?

Are there any out there for our trucks (mine's a 4x4)?????

A buddy put Stillen 4-piston calipers and slotted discs on his 2500 Suburban. Man does that thing stop! Stillen primarily markets for sports cars and 1/2-ton trucks. I asked them why put racing brakes on a 4000 lbs truck that's always empty? What about those of us sitting on 19,000 lbs????? He said sport trucks is where the money is. (at least I got a straight answer).

TDR issue 29 says EGR makes something. Anybody know about that?

2 or 4 piston calipers would sure end the caliper lockup problems.

e-mail--Cedarridgeent@aol.com for carbomet brake pad and shoes--I'm in the process of buying some-playin email tag--he's also got bigger rear wheel cylinders for the back--my truck is a '99 also and the front part # is CM370--evidently these are the best brakes out there for our rigs--ceramics aren't available yet to my knowledge for the 2500 models--he didn't give me the rear part # or the wheel cylinder part #---double check the part #'s with him to be sure you get what you need---chris

I've heard some folks swapping the rear cylinders on the 2500 with those off a 3500. Some say that helps a little.

My biggest concern is the front calipers. I'm still looking for a multi-piston setup (i. e. piston(s) on both sides so the caliper doesn't have to slide or 'float'). To me, this seems like the best solution for the frozen caliper I and many others have struggled through (I'm on my 2nd set of both front calipers, no signs of improvement).

A question for you guys (and gals): What do you lube the caliper pins with? I've tried moly grease, synthetic grease, anti-sieze, silicon, and mixtures of these. Nothing seems to work very well. So far, the best is the high-temp moly lube the Marine Corps uses on the barrel threads of the M-16. It's pretty good, but I'm just treating a symptom. The real problem is 1/2-ton Chevy brakes on a 7500-lb 4x4.

Any ideas?
