I replaced my S300 which worked just fine with a HTT SS62 last weekend. Performance Turbo Motorsports in Belton, TX did the work for me. I also had PTM install a new ATS manifold.
The first thing you will notice is that the SS62 is noticeably louder with more turbo whine. If you wind up the turbo and back off suddenly you will really hear it spool down. My 4 year old even told me my truck sounds different.
Spool up is quick and you can tell that your pushing a larger volume of air even though both turbos make about the same boost pressure. Smoke has been decreased by close to 50% especially at 30 - 38 lbs of boost. Before my truck would make smoke that would make people swerve to avoid it. I even had some one call the number on my truck to complain about the smoke. My F1 1. 6 90 HP injectors work great with the SS62. I haven't towed anything heavy yet so I don't have any EGT information yet.
My EGT's with the S300 and Smarty on level 9 never really got above 1050 F. I don't expect to have any EGT issues with the SS62. Even with my water\meth turned off my truck runs great EGT's up hill with a 17,000 load.
The bottom line is that I would definitely recommend the High Tech Turbo Super Stock 62. My new Dyno numbers from Fuel Injection Specialties in San Antonio are 447. 5 HP & 983. 5 TQ. The PowerDyne software that runs their Dyno works great. The dyno plugs into the data port of the test vehicle and give you very detailed information about the dyno run.
