Well finally go to go down and found a dealer that had a 04 ram 2500 4x4 with the 6speed and cummins 600. I dont like the quietness of the engine. First time in a stick shift diesel and i was amazed at how easy and effortless it was to drive. It shifts great and tight and feels awsome. it has great ratios for driving thanks for the nv5600. I'm sold on a stick! well now i just got to find a 01-02 6speed  However, i did notice some hesitation right after getting it 3rd gear in the 30mph range. It felt like the truck had no power but it built up and it the mid 2000rpm range the turbo kicked in and my head flew back. Is that the hesitation problem you all are refering to with the new 600?

Just wait til that transmission and engine break in a little bit:D . The six-speed is a very enjoyable transmission to drive. I find the "sweet spot" between 2000 and 2200 rpm, but you can shift the truck just about anywhere in the torque band. My truck just turned over 12k and has really started to come into it's own. What a pleasure to own and drive:) I think that if some of the folks that prefer autos drove one of these six-speeds, they would be impressed.

Ya shoulda drove it over to the Subie/Dodge dealer and shown the less than stellar salesman that ya spoke to on the phone. Had him look reaaaal close at the shifter from the passenger side and suddenly stuff it in 6th. LOL Anyways well at least ya got to drive one. . . a 600 even!
