Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) ho vs so turbo

is there a difference in the HO vs the SO turbo i have the hx35w it being a 99 was wondering what the HO have just wondering thanks

I belive they are the same mine is a HX35w also the '01-'02 autos have a Hy with a 9cm housing.

is it the injectors that give the HO more power? i've heard it was something like that, but who knows if thats true lol and i know the hy35 is really small hooked my edge comp up to a 01 and the turbo could handle it was cutting out and stuff

HO = different injection pump settings, higher compression, smaller injectors than the SO, the injection pump flows less fuel than the SO.



Different compression and PCM/ECM settings are the big mechanical differences between the 2nd gen engines. The HX35W has a 12cm exhaust housing.



The HO's like injectors for more power.



The SO's prefer timing/fueling boxes.
