As noted, there is a boss that extends out just below the EGR valve. That's why I added an [EDIT] bar on my post as I assumed it was just the stud in my original version of my post. But since it's a hole the previous user drilled and tapped, the job now is to find a bolt that will fit there just fine.

I plugged the hole with a bolt and pulled a trailer about 550 miles today and it ran great. avg on the dash was 10.2 mpg Atlanta to Hickory, NC and back 9,000 # going and 14,000 # coming back.
Thanks for the replies and ideas.

I think it is pipe threads, not bolt. I have the same tapped bolt for my boost gauge. Snoking
I think you misunderstood me SNOKING, I guess I wasn't clear enough, I'm recommending a 1/4"npt X 1/4" flare fitting, then use a flare nut with a blank copper disk to seal it until a boost gauge can be installed. I don't know if I like the bolt we used, the hole through the bolt is an 1/8" at best, but it is a lot easier and cleaner to use the bolt. I wasn't looking forward to tapping a 1/4" NPT hole into the intake, but if it ever comes off, I'll tap it for 1/4" or 3/8".
