Buddy just called about a holley black pusher pump and was asking some questions. I dont know much about them becuase i have a fass system on mine. How much pressure do these pumps operate at. Also has anybody had hard starting issues with them. Can you run these pumps alone without the stock lift pump or do they need to be ran in tandem with the lift pump. do you put them on a toggle or give them constant power

i run a holley blue, my brother runs a black and i will soon be going to a black. all you need to do is hook it up and run it. that easy. using a vulcan big line kit helps a bunch too, you get the harness and all.

what pressure is it running because i think there are two of them . i had a 150 and it lasted about 6 months . i called holley and they said not made for diesel . i ran about 17 psi when it started but got bad

My first stock lift pump finally took a dump a couple weeks ago at just under 20,000 miles. I installed a Holley HP-150 gerotor pump on the frame rail with a Vulcan "Big Line" kit last weekend, using the stock harness to trigger a relay for the pump power. The install came out great, but I guess we'll see how long this particular pump will last. I love the gerotor pump - it is very smooth and quiet, unlike the vane pumps. On the first ride after installation, the pressure was rock steady at 10-11 psig at idle and constant speed, and dipped slightly to around 9 psig on moderate acceleration.

Just an FYI those gerotor pumps aren't designed for constant use. It actually says that in the paperwork you got with the pump They are designed for drag cars that run for about 5 mins then shut back down again. They will not last long running constantly

Yes, I am aware that certain Holley pumps do have that intermittent use warning. I run one of Holley's bigger gerotor pumps (12-706-1) on my race car, and it does say that it is for short duration use only. However, the 12-150 pump is the biggest & nicest gerotor pump they make that is classified as a "street/strip" pump, and at least the owner's sheet does not have the same warning as the 12-706-1. That's why I decided to give it a try. I have not run any of the Holley vane pumps (blue or red) for a long time because I had bad experience with the motors, but maybe they have improved motor reliability since then.

The Black and Blue pumps are rated at 15psi. The GPH incresaes with the Black pump if that helps to answer your question. . I for one am about to order a FASS system with air seperator for my truck...

I bought my truck used with a holley blue already installed. I have put 30,000 hard miles on it since December 2005. No problems as of yet. 15-17psi at idle 8-10 WOT. Mine is wired with a relay to run constant with key on. It is also pushing through the stock lift pump. Hope this helps.
