How does this pusher pump compare with the stock LP? Is the flow (gph) supposedly better? I'm sure this information exists somewhere but haven't located as of yet. Thanks for any information.

I was disapointed with mine. I could only get 13# idle and down to 5# WOT. I went with a fass pump 95gph and im finally happy.

I personally like the Holly Blue, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only 3rd gen guy running one.

Mine will be 2 years old next month, with no issues. I bought it because I prefer a moderate pressure at the CP-3 (I get between 11 and 13 psi at idle), and the flow rate is about what I wanted (~60-90 GPH installed). This is pushing through the stock canister (10 micron) and a Stanadyne FM-100 2-micron filter. Pump is mounted just forward of the tank, on that thin cross member. The siphon effect ensures the pump doesn't need to do much work to pull fuel.

My engine is completely stock. The Blue may not be appropriate for higher-horsepower ratings.

Almost anything is better than the stock LP.

I appreciate the quick responses.

BHowayeck, were you running the Holly in line with the stock LP?

Steved/Rbattelle, if you run the Holly in conjunction with the stock LP, will fuel still get to the filter bowl should the stock LP fail? Thanks to all.

If you have the fuel-bowl-mounted lift pump, if it dies, the holley will NOT push fuel past the dead pump.

I'm not sure if the holley would be able to pull fuel past the intank pump...

However, if the holley blue dies, fuel can be passed through it without a problem... I have a holley blue knock-off on my aux tank, and I siphon through it the majority of the time.

Thanks. Would you by chance know if the in-tank design pushes more fuel to the CP3 than the stock under-hood mounted LP I'm currently running? I ask because I haven't read anything on here about this and do not have much faith in what the dealer is telling me.

From what I have gathered, the intank pump will supply enough fuel to the CP3, however at a lower pressure... it becomes a problem when the truck is modded and requires more fuel than stock.

The fuel-bowl-mounted pump will push fuel to the CP3 at a higher pressure, and theoretically, that should translate into more potential volume since the cross-section of the delivery lines remains the same.

Most aftermarket pumps provide a minimum of 3/8" line from the tank to the CP3... just to give you an idea (if the stock lines were ok to use, they wouldn't provide the extra plumbing)...

Steve, I agree with your theory, thanks. Looks like I'll be sticking with the stock LP or going aftermarket. However, for what Dodge wants for their stock LP, may be better off upgrading for a little more money.

I just installed a Glacier Diesel Walbro pump. Great kit, everything you need to install. Mine replaced the fuel filter mounted LP. It is mounted on the inside of the frame rail just in front of the fuel tank. I'm getting 20 psi at idle and cruising through the stock filter, drops to 17psi at WOT.

John, just curious, did you order from Glacier? They're asking $419 for the standard kit. thanks

had it on my 05. took a crap after just 2 years. just locked up on day. luckly i only work a mile away and gimped home. leaked around base and pulsed bad when the batteries were charging after start up. it did give 22 psi but could pull it down easy. i musta just had bad luck with the pump. i know some like it.
