People sure can be a bunch of F@#$%G idiots!

I have a 1995 Honda 300 trx 4x4 that is having some starting issues. I just replaced the original battery with a new one today. Whenever I go to start it, there is a solenoid right beside the battery that clicks. I will be replacing that solenoid as well I guess.

Now for the question... ... ... . The starter sounds weak. Very weak when I actually get it to turn over. I even boosted it with the cummins and it still sounds weak. Checked connections at battery and at starter, they both look good. Never took cables to starter apart for cleaning, they looked good. I wonder if just replacing that faulty solenoid will be enough to get the quad spinnin over like it should. $110 battery, $80 solenoid, and $??????????? who knows how much a Japanese starter is worth! Maybe I should have just stayed with the kick start!

Anyone have one of these buggies with a simular experience?

Different quad, but similar problem

The starter may be TU. I had problem with the Starter on my Scrambler. The brushes were shot. Water had gotten inside the starter (obviously from one of my mud boggin rides). You should be able to buy a new armature plate for the starter... should be no more than $40.

if you price out a complete new starter... . you better have a seat first

I have a 87 TRX 350. My starter was rebuilt a few years ago. Next time it will be replace since its so old. But had those systems you were talking about. New ones are an investment thats for sure.

I just ordered the solenoid for 89 bucks. A starter is $470!!!!!!!!!!! More than our cummins starters. They do have brushes for them... ... ... ...
