In an attempt to solve a "hopping" problem, I installed an after-market kit which should have helped eliminate, or minimize the truck hopping.

It did not work at all. I don't want to carry about 500 pounds of sand to help with this problem. I'm now considering some sort of rear suspension modifications.

The problem is not a mere uncomfortagle hop which it is; at times it's dangerous. The highways here in Oklahoma have a bump on some places at the concrete expansion/slab line, and when this hopping begins, it seems to resonate, with harmonic frequencies (3rd, 5th, maybe even higher) mixed in depending on speed. On smooth pavement, there is no problem at all.

I lowered tire pressure from 80psi all around to 55 front, 50 rear with no noticibly improved condition.

Is this just me, or what? Any advice is wanted/welcomed, especially the kind you know will work.

Jim

Don't know what aftermarket kit you have tried but try the Roadmasters sold my Mr Bob. It works very well at keeping the rear end from bouncing. There is a group purchase for them on the WWCD2 wbsite.

Jim. . I don't see where you have changed the junk factory shocks. . I have a 3500 and the bounce is far worse than a 2500. . Rancho 9000's did the trick for mine. . setting on front was 3 and rear on 2 add settings for load/weight again that was on a dually

I"ve ordered the roadmasters, and they are being shipped today. Had a great conversation with Bob, and he had recently sold the same kit to another truck which also had tried the velvet ride hopper stoppers, and the Roadmasters actually performed even better with BOTH mods installed.
