To add to Dutch and Di's experience in Arizona with his recent surgery.
My MIL was hauled off Friday, my wife had to battle with the local hospital to transfer her to the big hospital in Bangor. After a 3 hour fight she got the transfer.
My observation over the last 10 years of dealing with hospitals has brought me to the following. .
If you have a loved one in the hospital PLEASE have someone with them at the very least during the day. It is terrible.
Di's experience is not an isolated incident, I don't care if it as simple as getting a puke pan, needing a piece of toast, meds, consultations, whatever. Someone needs to be there to keep an eye on things.
Don't leave them there alone.
If I have to work double time to keep my wife with her mother, then that is what I will do. Period.
Mike.
