Why don't you guy's get rid of those crappy VP-44's and get a real pump. P-Pump all the way :D

When was the last time you tried to start a lowered compression 24 valver at -10 with no plug in? The VP does have some advantages.

I know *I* sure would hate to pay big bucks for rebuilt/upgraded mechanical parts, and STILL be left with used electronics that are YEARS old and with 100+ thousand miles on it!

You know Gary, when your right, your right!

Ever since we put this p-pump on, it start's better in the colder weather. Truck sit's out overnight at work, the vp-44 rolled over a couple of times hard. Now with the p-pump it fires right up. You guy's may want to consider the p-pump conversion, there pretty sweat.

As far as the p-pump conversion goes..... Been there done that! Its great for max HP but personally I don't feel the truck drives near as nice as a VP truck. To make decent HP you need to run lots of fuel and timing which hurts the lower rpm HP. The trucks smoke alot due to the big fuel and advanced timing. Then there is the issue of having to get specialty parts for the truck if/when something breaks.

Don't get me wrong I loved the truck I put together but it was lots of work and tuning. For all out HP it couldn't be beat but as a daily driver I wouldn't recommend it.

Just my $. 02 worth,

Doug
