Any .22 rimfire junkies on this board?

Do wemon ever pass gas?

Any old hot rodders here? Talk about what ya had!!

I had a 1968 1/2 Mustang fastback with a 427 dual quad engine. One of the old medium rise side oilers. The car originally came with a 428, one of the original first Cobra Jets. The engine was gone when I bought it.

It had dual 652 cfm Holleys, high compression pistons, an Isky mech cam, and dual point Mallory ignition. No such thing as electronic ignition then. Had a Sheiffer clutch setup, Hooker headers, 4 sp transmission, 4. 56 rear end with a Detroit Locker. It had H60's on the rear and f70s on the front with Keystone Kustomags, remember those? Lakewood traction bars and a Hurst shifter. It was dark green with a white reflective C stripe. And... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... It had an eight track stereo with dual speakers! I was   !!!

Anyway, that was my ride back in the early 70's. A guy that lives in Hays KS has it, but won't part with it.

1965 Mustang coupe bought new while I was in high school, 289, 11:1 compression ratio Shelby pistons, 785 Holley, Edelbrock F4B intake, Doug's headers, Mallory dual point distributor, Crane Z-300-8 solid lifter cam & kit, T&C top-loader wide ratio (2. 78 first gear) 4 speed, Hurst Competition plus shifter, 9" Ford rear axle with 3. 00:1 (highway) and 4:57 Equa-Lock (drag racing and autocross) 3rd members, Goodyear F70-14 Wide Tread GT's on Cragar SS mags, Sun Supertach and a few other odds and ends.

First car out of college was a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT, 351 4V Cleveland, 11:1 compression, 300 BHP rating. Pretty stock, but had all the extras (power everything, A/C, etc. ) and could blow the doors off a 325 BHP 396 Chevelle SS (but so could a lot of stuff back then. ) Nice highway car, too - my wife wants me to find a restored one for her! :D

played and broke many muscle cars. 69 camaro, 70 buick GS, 69 chevelle, 70 charger.

My favorite 'Hot Rod ' was a 1979 chevy k10 4x4. I put 2. 5 ton military axles under it with 48" tall cement truck tires, it had two transfer cases and either a powerglide or TH400 with 4500 stall convertor. The first motor was a 396 with 11. 5:1. Second motor was a 540 with 8-71. I trashed the truck eventually since the stock frame could not hold toghter even with the reinformants and cage.

My first car was a 69 Camaro Z-28 that I got when I was 14 and I still have it. I also have a replica of the 32 Ford Coupe from American Graffiti. It's been a pain in the rear to keep those 4 Rochesters on a Man-A-Fre intake tuned so it will run right. I think I finally have it right for the first time in almost two years.

a sleeper... ... ...

69 Dodge A 100 Tradesman Van long wheel base,

that was the model with the split windshield and the engine between the seats... .

took the stock 318 out of it and replaced it with a 69 Duster 340 six-pack engine ( they were cheap back in 75... ) It would bury the 100 mph speedo right now but I could never get the coolant temps down.

100 mph in an old Dodge van with kingpins, no power steering and Firestone bias ply tires, sitting right next to the engine

THAT WAS A RIDE!!!!!!!!

Had to resize the image so I could attatch it and it won't let me edit it in, so I'll post again. I want to see if it works anyway.

Never mind, didn't work.

Still got it. 1967 Coronet Deluxe , 2 dr sedan. Small block , for now, manual valve body auto, tied frame rails, tubbed fuel cell, 28x13. 30x15 ET Streets, etc. I'd post a pic but they're all too big.

My first car was a '70 Plymouth GTX. I bought it when I was in high school. It had a built 440 6bbl out of a '69 Roadrunner (the original 440 was gone when I bought it), a Hemi 4-speed, and a 3:54 Dana. One of my favorite features on the car was the Air Grabber hood. That was really cool. I get depressed almost daily when I think about the mistake I made of selling it. I recently located the car (after 18 years) - it's about 2 hours away from me. I have a strong attachment to that car since it was my first and the greatest car I've ever owned. It's probably a good thing I don't have the money, because I'd pay more than it's worth to get it back.

I'll post for my dad

Being that I am too young to have all the awesome cars you guys have had, (I am drooling) my first hotrod of any sort was a 77 F250 with a Lincoln 460, 4 sp and 750 dbl pumper, it would get the 35 inche tires in 3rd and spin at idle in 1st. Pretty good truck. But my 96 is faster and has lots more ameneties.

Back to rods, my dad won't post so I will for him, His best was a 57 corvette bought for 600 from his brother in law, bored and stroked to 306 ran anywhere from 3 two barrels to 2 fourbarrels. Lots of two door hardtop chevys and the most interesting was a model T with a 396, it bent the frame to where only three tires touched the ground. My dad isn't one to exagerate too much so I believe him.

I would like a corvette stingraywith a 427, but keep up the good work, I love reading this stuff

Still got it - '69 GTO convertible 4sp. It's sitting in the garage right now engine less until we get some disposable income - my 3 yr old and other things took it all for a while. But it'll be there when I'm ready! I tore down the 400 that came in it and found a huge weld in the lifter valley running from the middle of the top of one cylinder all the way down to the base and back up to the top of the adjoining cylinder. No way I was going to put any money into that block.

My last muscle car was a '67 442, '70 W-30 455 w/ 850 double

pumper on an Edelbrock manifold, 2" Hooker headers and a bunch

of other mods. Ran it through a TH-400 for awhile and then a

BW Super T-10 with a 2. 88 low. I kinda miss it now... .....

68 GTO, 400ci, 350 HP(its been a while,I think that was the HP), Auto with select shift gate. Was a real treat to drive but a bear to keep running good. Lots of carb problems. Sure wish I had it back tho.

Steve, Wow what a beauty!... . my first hot rod was a 68' GTO, came stock with a turbo400 transmission B&M slap stick. She really ran good with a big old cam and high performance manifold with quite a few different Carb's including the 6 pack. although the Holly 850 ran best. I ended up blowing up the 400 motor and replaced her with a 455 I found at the wrecking yard out of a 69' Grand Prix. That one ran real nice too!

I inherited my parents all original 71 Buick GS Stage 1 455 that they bought after they got married. Right now it's sitting outside at my house until I can get the $$ to make a garage and do a complete restoration. Has 68,000 original miles on it and last ran in 99. I'll try and borrow a friends digital camera so I can post some pics...
