From what I've read, 370s will support up to ~600hp, if you have enough other stuff that will deliver that much fuel. .

The EDMs won't smoke as much, and should have the correct spray pattern for our pistons.

i believe that 370's have produced upwards of 700. they deliever alot of fuel, the prob is the air to burn it.

370's are 5 holes at . 012

If you do not have the air, going larger will do very little for you. In fact it could hurt your HP.

I have a big single. When I pulled the truck my EGT's only hit 1400 to 1500 deg. with the 370's. I have mod pistons to handle the spray pattern of the 370's but was looking for a littel more fuel. How many holes @ . 016? Seven?

This is not entirely accurate. Just because the holes were opened up with the EDM process does not mean that they are a better, cleaner burning injector. However if the EDM injectors have the same spray angle as stock (and not all do) that may help make them a little cleaner.

There is much more to optimum injector performance than making the injector holes larger.

ryan, are you sure about that? i thought stock was . 012. i know kent crowders truck is running . 022 ( im pretty sure) and thats pretty extreme. i belive a 5 hole . 018 would do just the trick on that truck. plenty of air.

Positive. Stockers are a bit less than that depending on what HP they were.

There is at least a few guys on here running a performance injector (buy that I mean there is a little more done to them than just opening up the tips) with 5 x . 018 holes on good sized twins powered trucks. I don't know that a single would flow enough air for 5 x . 018 unless it was a pretty big single.

Has anyone tried increasing hole size? Or do you have to buy the nozzles that way? I would imagine crack pressure would have to also be adjusted?

I belive a 5 hole . 018 would do just the trick on that truck... ..... Ouch!

A stock 370 is a . 012 thou hole 5 of them, now if you go to a 5x12 EDM you have the same hole size... . true but you have a cleaner hole and there are tricks you can do(and have to buy)that will make them flow much more on the topend, it all depends on how much money you want to spend.

Matt, my EDM's are a 5x18 with these tricks! I do know of someone that is going to try a 5x24 but it is no stocker street truck.

700 out of stock 370's can be done with Twins but it's pushing it and it's not just a throw together deal, if it were everyone would be doing it... ... 600 is a throw together HP number.

I'll bet a whole lot of money that 800hp is do-able with stock PDR370's, and thats on a mustang dyno so it's true hp. Now that i thought about it for a minute, i'm meant with water inj. so that probably doesn't count, I'll shut up now and keep my posts to once a year. :-laf

im pretty sure that nate doesnt plan on driving this truck around town much, you can open up the injectors pretty wild on these trucks, i am going to have mine done someday, and there going to be 5 hole . 020, and a big set of twins  barely streetable is what im after  i get a heck of a deal on custom edm's so there pretty cheap, so i am going that route instead of 370's.

So actually I could just take my ol stock 175 hp nozzles an open them up. Then check and adjust crack pressure.

Yes this can be done and it could yield you a fairly decent injector.

As Jim stated though, there are a ton of tricks that can be done though to make a truely performance injector.

Can anyone answer this question for me? What are modified 370 injectors?

There are several guys that are extrude honing and EDM'ing 370's because they are the cheapest to start with. There are other "trick's" that are done to them as well.
