0. 040 over is the biggest you want to go from what I hear. Not sure if he is on here, but superhawk2002 went 40 over on his rebuild with compound turbos. He's got a rebuild thread on my site

I don't have my manual to where I can get at it but I think you are suppose to resleeve the cylinder when wear hits 1mm. That is . 0393. So if you bore the cylinder to . 040 and 1mm is the wear limit and 1mm is . 0393. Where is the win portion of this situation?

custom forged pistons can be very BIG... know of a guy doin . 200 over YES

. 200,competition only and being hard blocked,$1800 custom forged pistons!!!

same source has said . 125 over on a street truck with no adverse effects, still retaining cooling system. havent tried it myself. have seen blocks sonic tested and showing anywhere from . 250 to . 475 thick cylinder walls. limited experience shows older blocks[1990] to be thicker. on the same note have been told by reputable people dont go bigger than . 040!!

$500 to 800 cast piston,std to . 040... $1800 to 2500 custom forged aluminium pistons std to . 200 over,maybe bigger

my opinion is a . 150 over 385cid cummins has more potential than a std 359cid cummins if built correctly. its all a MONEY thing, how BAD do you want to be,,, how much do you want to spend. street truck proably best to stay as small as possible...
