I have a set of the flip up tow mirrors on my 2nd gen, I whacked the drivers with a tree branch plowing and broke the glass the other day. I have a new one here from Geno's, but couldn't get the old one off. I looked at the new one and it wasn't real clear what held it on. The instructions said to just tip it out and pry it off. I did, and then tried to put the new one on, and it won't stay. I don't want to push on it too hard and break it, it was $50! Can anyone give me some tips or tell me what I'm missing? I thought the 3 little metal clips held it on, but the old one didn't have them and it looks like all they do is steady it to prevent vibration. I looked thru other threads on here and nothing was really clear. Now I have nothing on there and I use my mirrors all the time. Help!

I had trouble getting the one on my '06 off then found a short video on You Tube that showed me how. Do a search for your year model on there to see if you can find one that shows you how. Once I actually saw how it was done, it was easy.

I think I found the problem, it was cold out and I think I broke 3 of the 4 locking tabs. Can somebody confirm I screwed it up? And the next question, can I buy just that disc?

Mine got smacked once. Their ins. co. paid $540.00 to replace the entire thing. Went to a local Auto Glass shop. Ordered a mirror glass for $20.00. When it came in (2 days) he even installed for N/C. Weather was warm that day. So, I guess I can't help you.
