How long on ordered trucks???

I check on mind today. It was shipped on 11-08-02 and it was ordered on 10-14-02

Just called again. Truck is still in storage, been there since last Friday. CSR said they were probably waiting on a truck or rail car with others going the same direction. I wonder if this is true or just speculation on her part. Looks as though they are just sitting on it.

Where was your truck built? Mine was built in Mexico. Apparently mexican trucks are sent from Mexico to New Orleans via tractor trailer, so that CSR's story doesn't wash if yours was built in Mexico too. They get loaded on train cars in New Orleans. If it is a St. Louis truck, then I might believe that CSR. .

Just talked to my salesguy, and got a plausible answer from him. Apparently there was some problem with a large order of Time Warner cargo vans, and TW raised hell to get them built. So there is a shortage of high clearance rail cars that our trucks need while they ship those. Maybe they're just in storage in Mexico so they don't pile up in LA. Either way, he's going to call distribution too and rattle their cage. Still haven't heard back from the CSR, but I think (hope) that both her and my salesguy would come back with the same answer (they're both calling distribution ). .

You got a little more detailed answer than I did. Salesman told me that they were waiting for transportation and there was not a problem. Hope this is true.

Sorry to hear about the hassle you guys are going through on your ordered trucks. Man it would be tough enough to wait the normal amount of time but to hear that some big customer is causing you to have to wait longer would really bum me out. Hope they get it straightened out soon.

11/14: Departed Vera Cruz (by ship to Tampa--then by truck to dealer) 13 Nov; dealer reports trucks shown departing Vera Cruz 5 Nov (why wasn't my truck on that ship? ) arrived at his lot 8 Nov (wow--must be a fast ship)



I leave on my hunting trip 19 Nov--I wonder if the truck will make it...

Salesguy tried to call distribution today to rattle cages. He got an automated phone message that today is a DC holiday, and the entire company is off.



Neither of us can figure out what holiday that would be, but according to the holidays.net page, it could be any of the following:

I don't want to ruin anyones day but my dealer told me that the plants close for two weeks around Christmas... further delaying truck arrivals.



Has anyone else heard of this?

Call the 800 # on Monday message said it was Veterans Day and they were closed. Was on the road three days, called today Friday message said it is Veterans Day be back on the 18th. What I want to know is where do I apply for the job would like 2 holidays in a week.



Ordered 9/20 BG on 9/25 moved to BX 11/7 only took 7 weeks at this rate be spring before delivery.

The Long Wait Continues

As dgieson mentioned, it looks like a long wait on our 03 ordered Ram's.



I ordered my 03 3500 Quad Cab HO, 6spd, DRW in Garnet Red on 9/30. Dealer said will get in 6-8 weeks. (of course) It was also in "BX" status when I checked on 11/13. It may very well be March- April before we get our new Ram's. It took exactly 6 months to get my 95 Ram also.

No wonder Ford & Chevy outsells Dodge. We can't get them.

I factory ordered mine 9/27. It was built in Mexico. I picked it up at the dealer in Northern VA on 11/15 .

Wonder if there is a problem with the QC CTD long bed DRW duallys that we are waiting on ? Seems like the members that ordered trucks with the Single Rear Wheel are getting them OK.



I have pestered, complained and demanded answers from the dealer and Dodge headquarters. Get no reasons for the extended delay, mostly get run-around.



Sure puts a crimp in my travel plans. My 38' Hitchhiker 5th wheel RV is parked out in Arizona, can't go get it until my truck get here. (Sold my 95 2500)

There may be something to the DRW thing because I ordered a SRW on 10-23 and I called on 11-04 and it had a D1 status.

I have a '03 Bright Silver Metallic Laramie Sport DRW 4X4 ETH/DEE 4:10 all bells and whistles on order. I ordered the truck on 10/4/02. I think the order actually went through on the 7th because of a problem with the color I wanted (graphite). The truck went into D1 status around the 1st of November. It shipped on the 6th and got thru customs at the Port of Laredo on the 9th at 11:13. Made it via UPRR to Salem, IL on the 13th at 15:42 and transferred to CSXT on the 13th at 16:11 bound for Selkirk, NY to be transferred to truck and to my dealer. The Dealer says it should be in this week. It should be, although my 98. 5 was "lost" for a few weeks in Selkirk. So far, everything is on schedule with the DRW (I guess that's my point). the big hold up so far was Customs at Laredo, TX.

My dealer got ahold of distribution. . No reason why it is in storage, but they are going to expedite it. My dealer's going to call them every day too to bug them, maybe they'll ship it just to get him to stop calling. Sure hope it moves soon. . Gonna be almost 4 months by the time the truck gets here at this rate.

Well, my dealer just called and mine has gone to KZ status. No rail car number yet. At least it is not in storage anymore.
