136,000 miles on original VP-44 and just changed the original lift pump at 135k. Want to bomb it but I'm afraid to change my reliability.

Origianal VP with wire tapped since 48,000. Lift pump changed at 39,000 truck now has 81,000 and just installed airdog.

177 k on the VP. 4 lp's I think. Kind of lost count. Spare under the seat. EZ and BD-1s since 22K. Comp and wire tapped since around 60K. I haven't used any additive for about two years.

Just turned 71K have lost 3 LP's but went to FASS 20K ago. Been bombed since 12K even bigger fuel lines and tapped pump. I've ALWAYS used Stanidine or Amalgimated(sp)? every fillup.

As sure as I post this I'm sure I'll be replacing one of them but I have 90k on both original pumps. I have a fuel card with work so I try to fill it up as soon as the light comes on. It's supposed to come on at an 1/8 of a tank but it always takes about 26 gallons which would indicate there's still about 8 gallons in the tank when I fill up.

I'm doing my research now just in case... . so any recommendations here would be welcome.

Time for a fuel pump!

Welp! I was right! I think it's time for a lift pump and or an injection pump. I felt the "dead pedal" yesterday. It was dead for about 15 seconds then it just kicked in like normal.

I have 103000 miles on my 99 and it has had no repairs or mods to the fuel system. LP still showing 15 at idle and 12 at cruise speeds

:{ I just replaced my pump at 135,000. It was working just fine, I stopped at a stop sign and started out in to the intersection and thunk... . dead my Dodge just became one of the local landmarks... . partway into the intersection. No it wouldn't start or do anything. Pushing one of these out of the road and guiding it is like herding a billygoat down the road with a wheelbarrow. Thought it was my lift pump cause I had no fuel pressure. Had ordered a FASS and was going to have it put on the next week. But no it wasn’t the lift pump the injection pump died to the tune :--) of $1350. It is all fixed now and runs better than it did when it was new.

Black99 5-spd /Gear Vendors 2 spd, BFGoodrich 315's, 6 inch longarm lift, Superchip,Volant hi-performance cold air intake, 5 Westech guages, dueltrans temp, duelEGT/Boost, fuelpressure, High Per Kevlar cluch, 4"ss exhaust, 5"Bull Horn stacks, custom light bar 6 Black Magic's, massive Trail-Ready frt bumper/Brush guard (half cowcatcher and half basket ball goal),2 510 PIA Fogs, 12,000lb. WARN, fabricated 1/2"plate back bumper/swingout tire carrier... thick as a backhoe’s blade…. got to be careful when backing up ate a cougar once in a parking lot. Pretty heavy and pretty dirty aerodynamically, a lot like pushing a locomotive down the road…. at least it looks like one. Will be upping the HP in the future with a new turbo and Edge chip

Correct a newbie if I'm wrong but shouldn't this be a Gen 3 string rather than a Gen 2 string or is this a 2 & 3 issue. If it's a gen 2 issue as well... I have 150k on my original.

Just wondered cause all that posted own gen 3s and well I'm a newbie, lol.
