Ken,

Nor do I, and I attempted to be very cautious for that reason in explaining the term to lon.

The head of our lighting department explains that a fixture is something in the bathroom one would pee into, and a luminaire is something which illuminates a room (light fixture).

BTW, he drives a Powerstroke!

Eddie

Ooooo, don't pee on a fixture. It will shock the crap out of you!!!! :-laf :-laf

I have heard that them there Powerstrokes are good reliable trucks that last forever!

... now about that light bulb, lamp, light, illuminator, tungstan filiment enclosed in a glass vessel thinggy ... If the originator of this post would replace it with an LED array, you would never need to change it again...

An LED light only lasts 11 years. That is only 96,423. 94 hours. In my house I would have to replace them every other month. It seems that no one knows how to shut them off!! :{

Silly Rabbit, if you used the latest "DIMMER" from Electrolux (sucks more juice right of your wires!) they would last forever + one day (approved by Congress, Judges, Governors, and Presidents everywhere!!).

Check out our latest infommercial, on at least 23 out of every 24 hours on every station, except FOX!!!

Ya, right. We have a LED light, that half of it quit working before the trailers warranty was out.

Thats what the guy told me at the nerd (I mean electronics) store.

I had to replace the little LED in my overhead console. Dodge wanted $300 dollars for new one, or it was solder in a new LED for . 14 cents.

My "new" leer shell has half of the LED's burnt out too. The "nerd" said they are very sensitive to voltage.

I think hip waders would not be suffceint. You would need chest waders. If this keeps going on any longer I will be dragging out the scuba gear.

I think that waders is actually in the "Its getting Deep" forum. Please refrain from drifting off subject... ... ... So you really think Yipee is the correct form???? Darn spell check... . I am adding words to it all the tiem. :)

why are some bulbs not allowed to be sold in Maine, Mass, or California? which models are they? can i bring them in from other states? does banks make a light bulb set?

K guys, enough with the personal attacks. The light bulbs are unable to type due to not having phalanges and cannot defend themselves from the onslaught of terror you've struck upon them.

Please refer to the site guidelines regarding senseless abuse of inanimate objects. :p

Here's moderator warning #1. ;) :-laf

Uh... it's spelled F-L-A-N-G-E-S. I know this because I used to be a pipe fightter. And you don't use flanges on light bulbs, they come with threads already installed. Unless they are flowerscent, then they sometimes have pins on the ends. :-laf :-laf

This is the best thread I've seen in a while. I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. I guess that'd be LSHIC :D

Yeah, well, they SHOULD use flanges. The light bulbs I just bought while camping at Wal-Mart had the crappiest threads I've ever seen. Last night about 2 quarts of electrons leaked out through the threads and piled up all over the floor!

Does anyone know what size tap I need to use to clean out the threads in the socket? Does Permatex #2 work to seal electrons?

Edit: Oh, yeah!! How the heck do you get electron stains out of Berber carpet??

Rusty ;) :D

What's even worse is that the light bulbs (lamps, illuminators, filliments) are 50 state legal, but you cannot register them in CA because they do not have a CA stamp of approval on the base. :(

Is it PC to call a "black light" black? Do you use "colored" lights on your Christmas tree?

I grew up in a black neighborhood in Arkansas. I heard them all. I saw them all. Different drink fountains. Different serving windows.

It's a great thing that most people have seen the "light"!

Rusty, in the home accessories get the ion charged air filter element. Between it and the leaf blower in lawn and garden you should be ok. Other wise, if you are into a little elbow grease, I hear electrons can be used to increase the overall signal for the TV's in electronics... You know, you get the good channels.

Edit: Nothing says camping like 40 TV's set to different truck shows.

I thought I was the only one this had happened to! The Home Improvement store I got them from denied the problem and after using my best people skills I eventually got banned from the store...

It's time for a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT! Anyone with a good lawyer PM me.

BTW, you can get the stains out of your carpet by burning it. :D

**Stealing is illegal**

(and wrong, and that makes you bad. . mmkay)

I, the TDR, nor any of its affiliates will or may condone the actions of such person(s). We are here to promote well-being and a friendly discussion of lightbulbs (lamps, etc. ). Also, the discussion should not contain any adult material (such as the "good channels"). We are not to be held responsible if the EPA, FCC, FTC, AMA, NASCAR, or any other association takes legal action against such person(s).

thank you,

and happy light-bulbing, lamping, fillamenting etc.
