My '98 has 439,000 on it . Replaced head gasket at 435,000 and it is leaking again. May have to have the head magnafluxed. That's all that has been done.

I never dream that a Dodge would go that long

The Cummins is something special and taking care of it would last a lifetime for me. I don't put as many miles as you fellows. I take trips out west in the summer in my Dodge Motor home with a Cummins. I just love it and will have it for life. Then I also have a 2006 3/4 Dodge diesel automatic. My Motor Home is a 95. I bet I never hit 100,000 miles in a life time but will try I hope. I am just one happy Dodge man. God Bless you all.

I bought my 98 12 valve Q-cab new in 98, ordered it from the factory with everything, Leather, SLT, ect. it has 98,000 miles on it and across the US three times. I killed the KDP (tabbed from a kit from TST) which was out about 1/8 inch, and did the seal on the vacuum pump with a kit from Gould gear, also starter contacts from Larry B. I have replaced a window switch and removed the EGR crossover tube (California requirement). I put on a Pac Brake and little bigger injectors for towing my 5th wheel. Total price when new was $34,135. 73 on 11/21/97, out the door including California Taxes and License. I love the truck and am going to keep it till they plant me.

Miles

892,771 miles. original injectors Bosch pump. every thing that goes up and down and around still there. I can't believe it myself. I was introduced to the automobile world in the late 30's and during the war years of the early 40's

and for a car of that era to go 100,000 miles was miracle. the only car of that time was Hudson and they would make the magic number but very few cars went that distance. Stormy:D

update on this old thread . It now has 258k and doing well nothing done internal . no pump work except no. 6 plate. batteries and fuel lines , and a Larry b starter kit. transmission twice.

My 96 3500 just turned 800,000 last month and the speedo is slow by 3%

I replaced the stock air filter at about 250,000 and have been using the K N since. I have my oil changed at Brandons 5 min oil change in Modesto ca where they have a exchange plan and always have a fresh filter waiting.

I am concerned about the turbo and possible runaway as was posted recently on this site and maybe it might be a good ides to replace it with a new one and upgrade. I believe this motor will make a million miles but if the turbo goes it will cancel that belief big time. Stormy

Congratulations RVPILOT. 893,000 is a lot of miles. How's the rest of the truck held out?

300 000km on 97 12v, stock just added #100 plate,

400 000 km on 2003 but only about 75 000km on rebuilt 12v stuffed in 03 truck.
