EGT’s running higher

My #6 injector failed with an open coil at 104k just before going on a camping trip - replaced all 6 and although filters had nothing to do with the electrical problem, I upgraded to triple filtration when the new injectors went in.

354,128 miles. Getting a stock set of 6 brand new ones put in this week. I will say that I did replace #1 original injector back in August 2014 at 293,625 miles and knew I was just buying time when I done it. All stock setup. I still love this truck.

FYI, I have put in two clutches (Southbend, and then back to stock for the most recent) and the #6 syncro is shot:-laf.

120XXX mi, 46XX hours. All original/ All stock except 2u home brew final filter and 7u in the can. Sometimes hazy, but runs perfect. Mostly light load/ urban driving.

How is everything in Howard Lake? I grew up there, we moved in 1956. My parents and a sister are buried there. We were there last summer and loaded up on Ittle's sausage.I have 232000 miles on my 2004. Have not had any problems. I had 210000 last year when we hooked up our 33 foot 5th wheel and headed east to Omaha, MPLS and back through the Dakotas towards home.Ran great.

Just recently had mine replaced (all six), 122,500 miles. Lost one while up at Bonneville. Right in that gray area where it was flipping a coin between one and all six, decided to do all. Bosch reman at about $350 each.

Crunch,

$433 each. I had them installed by a local shop along with a new valve cover gasket since the old one was leaking. I didn't have the time to do it myself.

Just an update on my new stock injectors. The truck is running great and I have no smoke at any point now. Apparently I had been needing new injectors for some time as prior to the new injectors I would get smoke with hard acceleration. I am very happy at this point. Looking back, I should have done all six when the first one went bad at 29x,xxx; I knew I was just buying time by replacing only one at the time. Again, very happy.

71K on mine. Three years ago I added GDP's in line 2-micron filter and a year ago I added water separator on the frame. Smarty from new until a few months when I upgraded to EFI.
Occasionally I add some fuel treatment.

Replaced all at 103K, but have been having fuel in oil problems since 85K. I think too soon old, too late smart.

on original injectors with 140,000. I don't tow and drive for economy although occasionally I'll work truck. About 3-5 times per year I'll get what I would call a rough idle where it seems as if motor is running on 5 cylinders. Not so easy to tell there is a problem any engine rpm other than idle. The problem always goes away, usually within a 15 minutes. This problem has existed since early in the trucks history, maybe 60,000. I tried to diagnose and identify injector with a wiring harness that I made based on Picoscope's offering. But without an oscilloscope I'm not sure it's possible to diagnose a piezo injector. I think I'm starting to come around to better filtration, perhaps I'll install when I replace injectors so that I can what can of a difference it actually makes. Great to read that people are going 200,000+ on original injectors.
