PROUND CTD OWNER. Towed a FURD!!

Ford owner needs advice

On my '01. 5 I put 275RV's and a TST PM3 on at about 500 miles. At 26k a SBC Con Fe. At about 40k I put a PDR40 on in addition to DD2's. It now has 80k miles. 1 Lift replaced but that is all the problems I have had. It has been used as a work truck and towed hard.

Greg, I was stationed "close by" at Fort Irwin, 40 miles north of

Barstow in the late 1980's. Driven by 29 Palms a few times on

#40 heading to Arizona, New Mexico and other points east.

Thought about ya last February when my dad and I went by

headed for central New Mexico on our Elk hunting trip.

Mine has been bombed since it had 24K on it and little by little I have gone from 230HP to where I am now at 532HP. I now have 148K and my oil samples come back with very little wear metals, my milage is better today than it was stock and she starts and runs better than ever. I am more concerned with things like driveshafts and gear boxes than I am with the mighty Cummins:cool:

1-35,000 all stock

35,000 to 52,000 running 400HP

52,000 to 58,000 running 450+

2 lift pumps

1 injector pump at 35,000

thats about it, great, now I have to knock on wood!

:D

PS; I drive it hard! I baby it till she's warmed up, then I let her have it!!!

I was in the 400 club. I hit 150k with an injection pump or two. Motors blowby is still very good. Even with 36lbs of boost. I had some fuel related (Im an idot and ruined the orings on the injector connector tubes, "You said 120 ft lbs right", oh it was 29 oops) runability issues this winter. But shes back to her normal self now. This much fun should be illegal and probably is.

Well if I can remember right, the previous owner who has a last name of mitchell said he put in mitchell inj. and a comp. version of the torque enhancer at about 5000 mi. Proceded to lose stock turbo, put on hx-40 and lost stock clutch, both at truck pulls. Put in Mcleod dual disk street clutch, that clutch lasted until 30k when I took it out at a truck pull. put in Mitchell pulling clutch and added pusher pump at the same time after losing the second lift pump. After that looking good so far at 47k with many hard hooks on it

400 HP with the stuff listed below, 137,000 miles, truck been turned up since 120,000. Haven't really lost anything, save for a transmission cooler line while going down the road:eek: :{ . Otherwise only some random Dodge stuff, nothin related to the Cummins. Oo.

01 Dodge did 411.8

The truck was stock for 11K. Now 42K

Edge comp and wire taped at 11K. Clutch lasted 2 weeks and was slippin. Got south bend Con OFE. Have a P. E. 4200, l Lost lift pump at 36600. Have done injectors DDII's, 4in Ex,

Ex brake,PDR35 W/14cm waste gate,ATS manifold,Piers new rubber boost,AN -6 fitting sand 3/8ths hose all the way to the pump,Scotty 2air filter, magtek diff cover, fast coolers w/lexon cover, bug screen and misc bombs that I can't think of right now.

I think that with all of the bombin it's doing damm gooood

:D :D :D Eric

Bone stock for the first 5,000 miles and then upgraded :D:D in the space of 2 months, before I shipped my truck back to Europe - full details of upgrades in the profile below left.

Two years later, I've just turned 42,000 on the odometer and the only problem has been the Oil Pressure sender that went belly up at 39,020

There is a member on NW BOMBers with a lot of miles on his '97, although the power isn't cranked up way high. Has the stock fuel place slid forward and BD injectors (not sure what level). He didn't start BOMBing until about 350,000 miles as I recall. He has 540,000 now. Handle is livingez_123

He got some guff from the NW BOMBers for not putting gauges in 'til after passing 500,000 mi

At 20,000 miles 300 injectors, HX-40, 380cc's of delivered fuel, Mitchell clutch. Thanks Ted!

At 40,000 miles added propane and another 100cc's of fuel- first blown head gasket. Marine head gasket, head ported/polished, valves re-seated No more LP

At 62,000 miles twin turbos (Feb or Mar of 2001), installed 370 injectors (Piers), 2 clutches (started racing) and 2 manual transmissions.

At 86,000 miles installed auto transmission

At 90,000 miles installed the current set-up of twins, o-ring, copper gasket.

At 96,000 miles welded forward gears together in Atlanta on transmission.

At 110,000 miles put marine gasket back in and turned truck's power down.

My first dyno was 210 hp, my last was 606 my highest was 613 and I never dynoed after I re-tuned the engine in late June 2002, but going by my 1/4 mile times I was around 670+ hp.

I now have 114,000 miles and have been over-stock for 94,000 miles!

Those must be actual miles. Now, the truck just turned 100,000 miles, and snapped an input shaft at 1/4 throttle on a 2-3 locked-to-locked shift.

Probably going to be rebuilding the turbo's and Piersifieng them. We'll see.

I need to get the transmission working again...
