How many miles on your VP44

I am very curious about how many miles you all have on your FACTORY VP44 pump,I am concerned about the pump life,and do any of you use any fuel conditioners or additives?

I have 90,000 on mine and am wondering how much longer it will last. Thanks in advance...

57K No problems to date. Use an additive every third tank. Use to use Transmission Fluid, the cheap Type A or F in the older trucks.

One quart per 30 gallons. Have not done that with any of the 96's or my truck yet. Most of the trucks I've had averaged between 95,000 and 130,000 for the pump (rotary) The two 96's (cummins) have the in-line pumps. One has 177K and the other 135K. No problems with them.

85,000 miles and all's ok. It ran for at least 20,000 miles on a completely dead lift pump (24,000-44,000). I've also had a TST Powermax (pump wire box) on it since 28,000 miles. I lucked out and got one of the few good early pumps (mine is a June build 98).

125,000, new lift pump at 67,000.

70,000 and mine just pooped out. 20,000 of those with power edge. dodge dealer saw prick in wire and needless to say i am paying for it myself. BTW great help from both Auto Wurks Diesel and Blue Chip. thanks guys.

Who is replacing it? Just wondering, your not paying more the $1400 for the new VP44 are you? If so thats too much. Just don't wanna see ya having to pay more then needed is all.

$1,300 from Bosch thru Auto Wurks Diesel (new not rebuilt) and I am going to change it myself. Spoke to both Auto wurks and Blue Chip and feel I can do it myself. Dodge dealer gave me a murderous price of $7150 plus labor, I tried not laugh at him, but it was killing me. He had to make a mistake!

After 78000 miles I had to replace both the lift and the injection pumps. It was a sad day when I say my baby being towed away on the HOOK.

9100 miles on original pump. My first diesel truck and after 9100 miles I get my first tank of water/diesel!! Luckily my ins. co. payed the bill. I had to replace lift and injector pump!
