How many of you guy reload? What calibers and with what?

I shoot 1200 - 1500 round a month mostly 40 S&W, I load alittle 45 ACP for my wife when she shoots with me.

I use a Dillon RB550L for most everything now, but still have my Rock crusher and an old shot shell press.

sounds like you have the same equipment I have. I don't remember all the calibers I can reload since it's been a long time since I have even been shooting let alone reloading. I guess that I will try to load some more when I have more time to do both.

Haven't lately... in past lots of 12 & 20 ga. shot shells. . older Mec Loader
need to start shooting again. . time time time
[swaped with buddy on long bore & hand gun loads]

Hello Drawson
I load and shoot about the same as you. 38 Super and probably for the same reason, USPSA. I use a LEE Loadmaster. and have probably run 40,000 rounds through it.

Not doing much now, but have loaded quite a bit of . 38 spcl and 22-250. Shifted to mainly shooting a . 45 auto and need to get to loading for it.

I reload . 308 (7. 62mm Nato), . 223 (5. 56mm Military), 40 Smith & Wesson, and 9MM on my Dillon XL-650, 300 Win. Mag, and 44 Mag. on my Rock Crusher, and 12 Gauge Trap loads on my Dillon SL-900. I really like to shoot but since I got my Ram, haven't been doing much lately. Spending too much money on BOMBing the "White Obsession". #ad

About 1500-2000 rounds per month on two Lee Pro 1000's. I have well over 100k rounds on both! I load for myself, my wife and a 15yo neighbor kid who I take to all our matches.

I shoot Steel Challenge and PPC, therefore I live on . 38 Specials. I do, however shoot Bowling Pin competition some, (. 357 and . 45ACP).

I also have a single stage I use to load lead-bullet loads for my "Quigley" rifle. No it's not a beautiful Sharps like Mathew's, (Can't afford one of those AND my truck!!), but a semi-custom long-barrelled Winchester 30-30 modified for off-hand shooting, complete with Lyman 17A and rear tang sight. We set up 200 yard gongs, and have impromptu competitions in the evening, over BBQ. We have some 38/55's and 45/70's that show up, too! It's a hoot!

I reload the old slow way, one at a time and I weigh every charge. It makes for accurate ammo but is very time consuming. . 45 acp, . 38, . 357, . 44 mag, . 243, 7mm rem mag and 30-06 to name a few.

Deezul 1, Yes we both reload for the same reason USPSA/IPSC style shooting. In fact I/m going to be at the Texas stock gun championship the end of Sept first part of Oct. in Gramm. I'm flying so I'll be wothout the ram for awhile. I am also just building my first race gun in 38 super.

Looks like there are a lot of competitive pistol shooters on the list! I went through several . 45's before I finally found one I really liked, an early model, all black Kimber that shoots great. I have not shot the . 45 in a long time; I was buying bulk bullets from Midway and burned out after 4K rounds on a single stage press. I have considered some form of competitive shooting but don't know where to start.

Right now it's primarily for whitetail in . 243, 7-08, and 6mm Remington. I really like all of the . 308 based cartridges and will eventually own a different rifle in each caliber. I've also been eyeing a Marlin 1895SS in 45-70 and will reload for it as well.

Nice topic,

243

Started loading 38 specials in 1971. Then it went to 357, 44, 308, 223, 30-30, 9mm, 40s&w,
etc.
Lets see, if I start with gauges, 4" exhaust, injectors... ... What will my truck be like in 30 years? Hmmmm

eventually, I suspect I'll need to begin reloading for my (apparently obsolete)Mauser 8 (7. 92x57)mm Czech --not wanting a black eye, I opted for a Lyman peepsite, rather than a 'scope. Who's got the easiest reload apparatus for a beginner, and who is a good supplier for a box of bullets--I,(being an ex-grunt) always police-up/save the brass... rich

I used to publish the reloading data and balistics for the different powders for all the Weatherby line from the 22lr to the 460WBY mag and everything inbetween until they started bring Norma powder back into the US. I hand load 44mag 45mag 30 and 357 Herritt 9&10mm 40S&W. I used to competition benchrest in the open class and 22PPC with Russian brass was the load of preference.
I used the Big MAX the Wilson and the Bonznza adj press for adj shell holders.
I use micrometer seater dies on everything and seat everything 10 thou off the lands and groves.
The bench rest brass is weighed, inside and outside neck reamed, primer pockets reamed and primer holes uniformed. When I had time I did the same for all the rifle cals also.
By far my favorite hand gun cla were the Herrits, and for long range the 30-378 WBY is a flat shooting killer.
I use Norma ballistic tips on the rifle Cals, GTB customs for the bench rest and Harnady on the pistol claibers.
I have 100s of every WBY cal brass in the target boxes and quite a bitof spare bulletts. Inside neck reamers and calibers, outside neck reamers, scales, lead pots tumblers, and three presses, and all the die sets. I have an extensive library of reloading manuals and many definitive books on custom reloading going back 50 or so years. Along with the bench I made to reload. All this will be up for sale over the next year including my entire collection of rifles, pistols, and shotguns. If it was made for precision reloading and in USA I have it. Time to give them a new home where they will be used and cared for. The optics I used were Zeiss, Swarsky (sic), Leuopold, and Redfield. I have range finders, spotting scopes, binoculars, and my full benchrest shooting setup.
My baby for the bench is a Stolle actioned, Heavy Hart Barreled, Chambered by Dwight Scott, Pillar beded in a Kevlar stock, 22 PPC 5 or 6 9s gun as in 10 shots at 100 meter measure . 999999. It has a 54 power Leo on Hart custom rings with a Timken 2 oz trigger. Fired from Witchata rests and lead filled bags. I have the complete setup for field reloading this outfit.

I reload on an old single stage CH press my grandfather gave me. I reload mostly rifle rounds: 7mm, . 243, . 375 JDJ, . 223, . 264, 25-06. Have also loaded lots of 44 mag, and 357. I need to get a faster reloader to keep up with my Kimber 45 and new AR-15. Those two just eat ammo!

Is the Dillon 550 the way to go? I have been looking at it for a while. Anybody vouch for it?

Nutts, I have had the dillon 550 for 9 years and have loaded millions of rounds on it. I just had aproblem with it. the main frame and shaft where just worn out. I called Dillon and they told me to send it in. I did on a monday it was back on my bench and loading again the next tuesday. And the best part all it cost me was the shipping to them. Dillon's products are GREAT but there service is SUPER

I reload 10mm and 40 S&W on my Dillon RL550 for my Glock (censored) and H&K (censored). God I love the H&Ks! I really like the performance of the Nosler 135 grain and the Sierra 150 grain bullets. #ad

Dillon square deal.
10mm/40, 45acp and 45colt, 357/38, 9mm and 380.....
Have built several custom 1911s.
Haven't shot much lately but the stuff is just waiting for when the itch returns! I used to do bowling pins. I think the loader would get a work out if I took it up again as I probably couldn't hit squat without lots of practice.

Papa Joe, I knew I'd heard of Rathdrum, Id. before, P W loaders. Can't hardley buy any better! Owned 2 over the years. Had to go to Mec 9000 hydraulic, cause of arthritus. Got to my shooting also. For about 35 yrs. , shot 10K to 15K rds. a yr. trap shooting. Wanted to go with P W hyd. , but was cost prohibitive by that time. Great bunch of guys at the P W plant up there. Every yr. at the Grand Am. shoot they had a booth, and if you took your loader there, they would rebuild and update it for you, parts cost only, less 50%.
Larry.
