One of our cummins (2002 3500 4x4 auto) seems to have a boost problem. We recently finally installed the guages (boost, pyro, fuel press, trans temp) and the truck only makes 14psi! Is this normal, as I am led to believe this truck has one of the 9cm housings? I thought it should still make 18psi or so. The truck is completley stock and has EGT problems on long, steep hills pulling about 10,000lbs in colo. BTW, we are always above about 5,000' altitude if that has anything to do with it.

My truck makes 18psi stock, at 4k feet. I also can make the pyro go up quite a ways with the pedal mashed... more than I would think for a stock 24v.

The most boost that I can aquire on a hard pull with my 04 HO is 22 psi. , and I thought that was low. Guess I was wrong! Mine is stock also.

The EGT can get to 1400* if we let it. Dont know if it would go any higher, and I aint gonna find out. We usually back out at 1300-1350*. This is in 2nd gear, and at max boost of 14psi. The truck is totally, 100% stock with low miles. the trans also can get pretty hot pretty quick, I think its been to 280* once. I think we determined the factory light comes on at 270* or so. All it hauls is a 2500lb car hauler with a jeep, and a 11' Lance slide in camper. It has 3. 55's.
