Diesel from old tires ?

Refine your own Diesel??

I live in CA. and in 2009 diesels under 8001 GWVR will have to be smogged. If you look on your VIN# your fourth digit should be a K meaning under 8001 lbs. I was wondering how much cleaner or less-emissions does bio vary from diesel #2. Anyone have any input or suggestions, what will I do? The truck is not bombed, but I did remove the stock exhaust with the cat and now have a 5" straight through.

You might want to reinstall the cat at the very least. If the diesel smog check is anything like the gassers a visual inspection is part of the check.

Also as I'm sure you know it is against federal law to remove or modify any smog control device.

Your GVWR is 9000lbs for an 04.

That's what I was wondering. If our GVW is 8800 (if I remember correctly) then it seems like a moot point for us. But if you have VW TDI, prolly aughtta keep 'er stock. They run fine that way anyways. (love the 2003) :)

After they figure out by vin trucks from 8002-14k will be added in

In Cali a visual is always the first step in a smog inspection. My guess is it will also get plugged into the diag port
