I don't understand... ... ... if the oil line springs a leak in AK, how can the dealers spike thier fuel instantly... ... ... . should'nt the increase be shown from thier next purchase price and THEN passed on to us ??

I know, I know... . it don't work that-a-way... ... ... but it jumped $. 27 to $2. 75 over night.

It's called supply and demand. It's messed up, but if they charge it and we buy it that's all that matters to them. Just my 2 cents!

Tell me about it. . . shot up to $2. 95 at the local Flying J (Pasco, WA). Best I've seen in town is $2. 84 :mad:

Crude is under $60/barrel, which is quite a bit less than it topped out earlier when we had $3 diesel last time :confused:

diesel prices

I think that one of the problems is that the population that actually buys diesel is relatively small. So, the oil companies can push us around even more than gas buyers because we cant raise as big a stink. And what is our alternative ?

My guess is that, this summer, $4. 00/gal will be considered a low price.

The law of supply and demand has long gone out of the window. Its now charge as much as you can to a captive audience. Im still convinced that we would not be in this mess if the government hadnt allowed all of the consolidation of the oil companies. They went after Microsoft for being a monopoly. In the early part of the last century, they went after Standard Oil. Why dont they go after the oil companies now ?

Have you noticed that every time some group even mentions harm to a pipeline or facility the dam price goes up, i think we can also blame those on wallstreet and the traders for the price hike. I sure hope the progress with bio diesel and the idea of using coal for diesel takes off like gang busters, of course there is the local eateries that would be more than happy to give their waste oil away, know what im saying.

$2. 85 here in Bothell Wa. Yep, we're getting hosed. And no one can do anything about it. The oil companies realized a couple of years ago that there is no "market" anymore. Mergers, and the realization that we will cut back on heat and food to buy fuel told them they can do anything they want. And, when some in congress actually try to go after them, the senators with the real power stop them.

2. 57 at the local loves.

I was shooting the bull In the parts department when another tech comes up

crying about it cost him 50 bucks instead of his normal 45 now that the gas prices are so high. :{

I had to rip him giving him hell about now he knows how I feel now that that gas is, HIGHER THAN DIESEL. here anyway.

Depending on where you buy fuel it's between $2. 639 and about $ 2. 90 here in West Virginia. Regular gas $2. 829. Guess I'll be running the wife's Geo Metro (50MPG) more and my truck less.
