ANWAR is a drop in the bucket. If it's oil were for sale, would it not go on the world commodity market & find it's way to China or the highest bidder? Bush's energy plan is a bad joke on the public & a boon for the oil industry. Face it folks we are sucking the stuff up like there is no tomorrow.

Had Georgie's energy plan passed in it's original proposal we would have at least eased or refining shortages we face today. We are facing two problems right now. First the skyrocketing price of crude, and second the shortages of finished refined products Gas, Jet, and Diesel.



Georgie's plan called for subsidizing and I hate to say it "BIG OIL". It called for streamlining the permitting for existing refineries for increasing throughput capacities, aswell as improving our pipeline, terminals. and distribution infrastructure.

Just filled up in Hampton, VA for $2. 53/gal. Last tank ($2. 41/gal) was good for 21. 7 mpg in "mixed" driving though, so I can only complain so much.

Expect everything to go up again next week because of the interruption of production as they evacuate the drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico in the path of hurricane Katrina. Yeah, I know; they will use *any* excuse to raise prices.

$2. 69 today, and rumors of a pending fuel shortage.

Who woulda thought I would be "happy to get diesel for only $2. 69 /gal" ? :--)



I've bookmarked everything I could find the last couple of days on Biodiesel. I think I'm going to start brewing my own, real soon!

Yep, $3. 399 in Reno. But, hey, at least regular unleaded is now the same . Didn't realize that we got our fuel from Louisiana, or that the fuel in the tanks at the station already got refilled. :-laf It was $3. 09 when I went by this morning, but I had 2/3 of a tank. That'll teach me to wait. Gonna have to dust the cobwebs of the bike.

This was at the Safeway off MaeAnne. My wife stopped at the Arco up here and it was posted as $2. 69 for reg, but they were out. $2. 79 for midgrade on the big sign, but the pumps were over $3. The poor folks that work there are probably afraid to go outside and change the signs! Or else gave up trying to keep up.
