How much power is the stock cp-3 capable of?

I am just curious of how much power the stock CP-3 can support. With the addition of a good lift pump system, a stack like maybe the TST/ Smarty/ MP-8, a set of 90hp injectors and a big single or twins. What kind of power will this setup make. of course, I'm not looking for exact #'s. Just an idea. Thanks

There have been quite a few trucks in the 6's with a stock CP3. Then agin there have been quite a few that just wont make the power as well.

tomeygun did 600 along time ago with so engine tst/ez/66 turbo/stage one pump/fass95/stage one sticks i think. . stage one pump is just a DIY pump which you should do yourself... so with your stock pump with DIY over 600

That same setup on my truck wielded 558, but the CP3 wasn't happy about it. It lost pressure as soon as the run started, and tried to play catch-up the rest of the way through.

Stock sticks and cp3 gave me 573hp/1200+trq with VA on 70hp. When I tried 130hp I lost power and I think my cp3 was losing it but I don't have rail pressure guage yet.

yup thats about what happened to me. i had the smarty on sw9 for the first pull and did 602HP. then for the second and third pulls i added the pressure box in and the second pull was 604HP and the third was 606HP id say my pump didnt even have enough for the smarty alone.

So what do you do to the FCA? Or is it a "secret"? So a stage one pump is baiscally stock except for the modded FCA? What are they doing to the stage 2's and 3's?

there is more involved with a stage one pump than just a modified FCA. as posted above the FCA modification is not to secretive. it also does not provide any noticeable power increase. at the most 10% over stock. as you could see by my dyno numbers it wont even keep up with just a smarty.

What injectors work well with the Floor It stage I cp3 and a single turbo like the Sledpuller 66 ?

i would say that stage one pump could only support say a 120HP injector with the correct fueling curve. in other words dont try and dump a ton of fuel early and have the cp3 playing catch up the whole time.

So are the two mods listed on relentless diesels page what makes a stage 1 pump? Thats pretty much what their site says. Has anyone dynoed these two mods to see of it helps any at all? Whos making th best stage 2 and 3 pumps so far? I've heard there is a lot of difference in the pumps from different companies.

i didnt see any difference in my truck at all with the modded fca. i do know that when i upgrade to a modified cp3 it will be an industrial injection modded pump.

Relentless Diesel says they saw an 80hp increase with the modified FCA and gear pump.
