I have the 96 12 valve with the 5 speed 4x4. how much boost will the turbo and engine handle, how much egt's are safe, how much will head gasket take, and i heard that if u retighten the head bolts it will last longer and help alot. And what are good suggestions for a single turbo upgrade and injectors that help get good gas mileage and low smoke. I did the #10 fuel plate, 3k and afc spring(still trying to tune it just right), and i want it to be a daily driver, and if i do the turbo and injectors will the engine handle that. Thanks

The question might be "How long do you want yours to last?

Your clutch will go quick.

You've got pay to play. LOL

I've got a friend running 434 horse with just a better turbo, timing reset to 19, better exhaust, extruded honed (?) injectors and a plate. Oh yea, about $5 grand in a full billet auto.

It took another 60k miles of driving before my clutch started slipping, I'll have to replace it soon. Max safe boost for stock seems to be less than 40psi. Max EGR temp is 1300, measured pre turbo, anything over is dangerous. 1100 degrees all day long is fine. The most expensive thing that has failed on mine after bumping up the power was the rear axle, two grand later including regearing to a 3. 54 posi.
