The manual on my 08 calls for every second oil change interval (15,000miles) to change the axle oil, front and back. I'm just doing my first change on it now, have about 14,000mi, putting in Royal purple synthetic. Anyways, since Dodge calls for the use of synthetic oil only, it is pretty expensive up here, about $120 for enough oil for front and rear. Any thoughts on if I can extend the drain intervals with the Royal purple or if I should stay on schedule. I was thinking of sampling the front and rear diffs at the next change interval and see what the oils come back as. At $20 a sample it might be cheaper than new $120 every 8 months if I can double the intervals. Wish there was some sort of filter kit for these diffs.

I've been changing mine at 25K intervals, along with the transmision and t-case. I'm not hauling any heavy loads but 15K intervals seems WAY excessive to me. 5 changes so far (I changed all lubricants after the first 500 miles), I'm at 108K today and when I changed last at about 100K, everything looked great! The Royal Purple 75w90 still looked new... . I'm certain I could do much longer change intervals.

I changed my rear out @ 9,000 miles and it was darn near as black as my engine oil. Nothing on the magnet though. Added a Mag-Hytec and 75-90 Amsoil Severe Gear. I don't intend to touch it for 25,000 more. Front's coming out at 15,000.

I changed mine at 7,500 miles, put in the Mopar fluid. I sent in an oil sample and the report said the visconsity was dangerously low. I changed out the fluid again at 15K, put in Amsoil Severe Gear 75w140 and also installed the Mag Hytek covers front and rear. I have right at 15K on the Amsoil fluid, am sending in a sample this next week.

Every 30,000k. now have 484,000 kms. on original rear end. Use Pensoil synthetic 75-90 mag-hytec cover. add mopar addative.

I change mine every 50K with Mobil 1 75/140 in the rear and 75/90 in the front. My stock stuff came out very good looking. I cannot see changing it every 15K. Seems like a waste, I pull heavy and tow and haul quite a bit also. Don't know. I would think that with todays high quality lubricants, 30K would be the minimum for severe service. Scotty
