i would watch fuel pres and if you see a drop, i make it a point to change mine ever 1,000 -5,000 miles i get pretty dirty fuel!

I am on the opposite spectrum of Lunderwood. I change mine about every 10K, but mainly let the fuel pressure dictate, which is about 10k.

When my brother got his installed... . the mechanic/diesel shop said everytime you change oil. He said to drain the water seperator every 3000 miles.

I just changed my first filter on my fass. I had at least 50K on mine. I had no fuel pressure loss so I didnt see a need. I started feeling guilty so I changed it. I cut it open to see what might be in it and found nothing at all. I was pretty suprised. Ive drained my water separator twice in that time.

So am I neglecting mine?

i think moreso its about where you get fuel , if you dont have any truck stops and its all very old little stations you better watch it! They have more junk! I get alot of sediment! The new shiney truck stop pumps seem to do really well , i think there was a discussion on it! I drain my water sep. every time i get fuel!

I use filters form FASS they have 10 micron and now a 3 micron if you have a 150/150 there are other filter brands. But for the 95/95 pumps i think only FASS has those filters also 10 and 3 microns.

Fleetguard now makes an awesome Microglass material filter for the 150 series that's down to 3 micron - especially good for the 3rd gen systems.

How often are you guys changing your filters on your fass system and what brand of filters are you running.

I change mine about every 10,000 are every other oil change.

I was using Fleetgard Filters but have went to Baldin BT372-MPG.

Gus, How many Fass Systems have you put on? I would think that you might want to run the 10 micron filter , 3 might stop up! Oh gus how many 3rd gens ya had down there workin on? Good luck on that super fast ride your building!

:D :-laf

Put a FASS on a Dmax today. A 3rd gen will be here Sat for a couple of things. A 10 is just fine on a 2nd gen because the injection system isn't as high pressure but the 3rd gen's require a better filtration because of the stress on injectors. Truck build up is going great. Block should be done soon and new turbo setup is in progress.

Right on Gus! Can't wait to see how she runs when its done.

3 micron might be a little tight, but I personally would rather change filters often rather than replace injection system parts due to fuel contamination. Pick your poison.

All business and paperwork is done at home. Shop is located off of St. Martin Rd. in between Albemarle and Oakboro - can't get DSL out there dang it. Come on down and check it out and I'll show you some stuff I'm working on. Keep all of my tractors and a couple of other things I've collected over time. ;) Good luck on the twins.

What kinda tractors you got now? I'll have to stop in one day! I know just where your talking about with your shop! I just got my shop started 70x70 but 40x40 of it is full of antiques! :{ but ive still got 4 bays and 2 lifts so i wont whine to much! Been cold hu?

Got a 4620, 70, a G and working on getting a 6030 - all John Deere of course. I love some antiques - did that in HS - my mom had a shop and I did the refinishing on the side good times.
