How to I.D. Dana Axles as 267 or 286, etc.

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how to I.D. a Dana 60 Front Axle as either a 216 or 248?
How about a Dana Spicer 70 Rear Axle as a 248, 267 or 286?
How about a Dana Spicer 70 Rear Axle with Limited-Slip Differential as either a Trac-Lok or a Power-Lok?

(all these options are listed in the service manual but no apparent way to I.D. the axles to these options)

There are some codes on the tag under the hood that may be the answer.......if anyone had the key to those codes.

The numbers are simply ring gear diameter

Thanks for the tips.......thats what I was guessing.....that the Dana 60 on my truck was a 248 and the Dana 70 was a 267.

Maybe that code DSA on the tag under the hood identifies the Limited Slip Rear Axle as a Trac-Lok or Power-Lok?
