How to remove aluminum radio surround??

I need to get at the back of my stereo to plug in a cable for a CD Changer. My truck is 2 weeks old so I dont want to break it! Does the plastic aluminum trim just pop off or what?

There is one screw located behind the trash bag hook on the dash. then the whole pice from the gauge cluster to the glove box comes off as one pice, snapps off easy!!!!

note there is only 8" of wire off of the switches so things are a little tight!!

BTW, I am installing a NEO changer 10-disc unit, which, if it works, should be a nice cost-effective solution for those wanting a changer that works with the factory controls and is less than $200.

Be sure to lower both the ashtray and the cupholder before removing the center bezel - otherwise, you'll scratch the faces of these with the metal spring clips while disconnecting the various electrical connectors.

Like the above said, it is very easy. My 04 has had its dash out 3 times due to the touch up paint that the salesman put in the little bottle oftouch up paint in the "cubby" under the radio and it LEAKED the night I brought the truck home. They replaced it after 2 weeks but then broke the cig lighter. 2 weeks later, it was taken out again and it only took them the amount of time for me to walk into the building to use the little boys room and return to the service department and it was finished. Looks to be very easy.

Got her done

Got my new CD changer in. Bad news is it wouldn't fit under either seat or in the lower seat console, so its in the drivers side rear storage area under the seat. Sitting at a 45 degree angle. SIMPLE plug and play, the changer controls all work, it even knows there are 10 discs in the changer!!!!



I got the NEO Changer from Ebay for $195 shipped, and it is awesome!

Heck, I like it so much, I am thinking of getting one for my wife's audi! I don't even have it permanantly mounted, its just sitting in the cubby under the rear seat. Fits perfectly and hasn't skipped yet.
