How to update navigation?

I am using an aftermarket IPOD adapter in my 6 disc no nave Dodge radio and I love it , I can even use the steering wheel controls with it to control the music selection--made by perifial I know the spelling is wrong but its a little early and I ain't so sharp in the AM

Are you asking about the Nav disk? if so No you just install it and keep going from there .

Not sure if this is a problem with my updated disk or not but I had a problem while on my way to the Redwood's this past weekend.



About an hour into the trip while on I-5 the navigation displaying such things as arival time, miles, ect. all went away. The only thing on the screen was the original Blue line indicating where I should be going. IF I made a turn that put me "off course" it would not direct me back "on course" Just show the blue line of whre I should be going... (Even if that was now many miles away from where I am now. )



I notced that If I shut my truck off It would not resume navigation, But I would need to retreive it from the "recent trip log".



Several times It would say (I forget what it was exactly) but to navigate to the indicated route, However Im already on the freeway and the navigation is tracking my movement on I-5. With No other roads around me???



Im going to put my original disk in and try to duplicate the issues.

Hey BRock 1 of 2 thing's you may of been in a area where it was loosing sat view or there was no turn by turn direction's available.

This was all on I-5 (major North South freeway hapened both in rural and urban areas. ) in an area that was very clear, It was tracking my movements, Just not navigating me. If that makes sence.

I experienced exactly the same thing traveling up I15 towards Las Vegas and then again coming home on the same route. I think its the update itself. I got a replacement disc, but haven't had a chance yet to test it on the same route.
