Gents,
I have a big ole Lance camper, with the good ole propreitary 7 pin round (not the common 7 flat pin) connector. I just had a folding ball gooseneck hitch installed to tow around a new dump trailer I bought. I kind of wanted to use this connector to power the trailer, the trailer is a 6 round connector.
In the winters I store my camper and put my toolbox back on, it covers the connector for the camper, but hey I can just build a pigtail to extend it. So My question is do I change the lance connector on my truck and my camper to 7 flat, and use a conversion for my trailer, or just buy another lance connector and make a pigtail wired for my trailer configuration. I don't think my trailer brakes are in the camper connector, but luckily I have an extra pin not being used. Is 12 guage wire big enough for trailer brake power?
Thanks for any advice, perhaps someone else has encountered this.
