2001 power seat fix?

Thanks. I beleive the flares are "Bushwhackers". I'm happy with the headlights. I switched from the stock single lamp to these, which I purchased (along with the tail lamps) thru LMC Truck. The headlights deliver a flat line across the top of the beam (as you are driving) similar to that of newer cars. I utilized the bulbs that came with the lights and when one goes bad I'll probably upgrade one level higher illumination. They perform pretty well, I like the way they look with just the parking lights on, hard to see in the picture but the two rings in each headlight assy are lit up, as are the three LEDs above and towards the center, the amber strip running towards the outside illuminate also. I went for them somewhat out of necessity as the stock ones couldn't be sanded and polished anymore, plus I wanted 2 lamps per headlight versus the 1 per.

Just checked the Bushwacker site the ones I got are:
DODGE EXTEND-A-FENDER FLARE - SET OF 4 - OE MATTE BLACK
Compatible Vehicle List Part #:50902-11

My 2001.5 is doing real good, have kept up on maintenance, but body itself has needed no work, no rust, live in Oregon. Have done one set of brakes, track bar mods, one set of shocks and front ball joints and axle u-joints, drive shaft u-joints are all original, just a real solid ride with 288K. Virtually zero work on engine, still has original injectors and Vp44, did have 5600 transmission gone through, but all it needed was new brass and did the power lube upgrade at Standard and installed new SB clutch. Mainly just fix little things as I see them, just replaced the door seal on passenger side last week, probably need a grill soon (plastic chrome is coming off and all the mounting tabs are cracked) but you know for a 17 year old ride it is real solid and wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere.

Nice pictures and truck thanks. Brakes I have done many on mine @187,000. Guessing 8 or 9 times on front near half on the rears. Severe Duty Wagner.

Thanks. I can't count how many calipers and pads I've put on mine until I installed rear disk conversion kit, about 6 years ago. Since then, about 2 yrs ago a set of rear pads and after returning from my 6k round trip a few weeks back a set front pads (they had about ¼" material left on them).

Wowzer, lots of brakes for some! Like I mentioned once at around 190K and now am at 288K and lots of pad still left, I guess a manual and that exhaust brake I added paid for itself many times over!

Same here. I installed an exhaust brake when the truck was new, first front brake work at 215,000 miles, could have gone another 50,000 easily. Truck is still working hard at 283,000 miles with no transmission work, original injectors, original clutch, and a VP44 replaced at 87,000 miles under warranty.

1999 SLT with 311,000 miles and the body still looks great, no rust.
Living and traveling in the Southwest, our cars suffer from the relentless sun and heat.
Dash cracked about 10 years ago, clear coat on the black paint on upper section of the front doors is cracking, the chrome on the front grill gas bubbled in a few places.

Hi,

New post here. Just bought an 02, 180k Miles. Located in Wisconsin all its life. I’m the 2nd owner. Truck has rust on front fenders, doors, and rear doors. The underbody is solid due to some rust treatment.

Looking to get it fixed this spring. Anybody that has had rust fixed, any tips on keeping it rust free?

Mine 2001 with 187,000 Long Island NY. Original owner.

Bottom of doors have rusted and been repaired. No other rust I know of. Chassis has near zero rust I always kept painting and touching up. Also did same to under of body. Two rear doors of quad cab need done now for first time. When I get it inspected they say where has this truck been with no rust on underside. :)

Thanks

Ziebart, Krown, or other similar rust proofing service.

2001 with 198,000 miles. Spent the first 8 years in CT, the last 9 years in eastern NC. Now garaged so not exposed to the elements. All four doors have blistered paint and rust and need to be repaired. That is the only body damage. Runs great after fixing electrical ground issues with a lot of help from the guys on this forum. Replaced one seat motor and bottom cushion, have to replace the dashboard, bezel, AC evaporator and heater core soon. This truck has an easy life now, its either Lowes or the landfill on Saturdays. I put less than 2,000 miles a year on her now. Going to have the body repaired and repainted and she will turn heads again!!

1996 Ext Cab 4x4, 67,000 miles. I have a rusty pair of pliers in the center console. The truck has Arizona Paint Disease. That means that any paint that has not curdled or evaporated off is now coming off in sheets and exposing the treated metal. No rust, though. Underside paint is as new. Once I can find the time, I'll remove the rest of the paint, epoxy prime, and repaint with single stage acrylic enamel with hardener. Clear coat paint holds up maybe five years here.
