OK, I know my truck runs pretty darn good. But today, I got to find out what a truck that runs REALLY good drives like! We had a BOMB party in Rainier, OR with the NW BOMBers. One of the guys was installing a new track bar on a 2nd gen and one of his bolts was too short. Now in that part of NW OR/SW WA, there aren't that many places late on a Satruday afternoon to get grade 8 bolts. The one place I knew of was about 15 minutes away. Rip Rook said he was driving but didn't have a clue how to get where he needed to go so I volunteered to navigate.
Off we went, got the bolt and heading out the store, he hands me the keys. I tried to keep a straight face but I doubt I was too successful. This truck is running in the 11s on #2 alone. I think his dyno # are in the low to mid 600s with 1100ft-lb torque. Through town, there's not much you can do but just driving a truck with those capabilities was something. Once back in OR, he turned on the box and told me to head up the hill once I knew there were no cops around. This is a hill that is about 1/5 miles and 7%.
Made the turn and "gently" got on it.
When that big turbo lit off, it was something. Backed out of it then not so gently got on it.
Holy #%&@!!! We went form 40 to 90 in the blink of an eye and the sound of those spooled up twins was impressive!!!
When we got back, I was all
and Oo. Oo. Oo.
Thanks Rip! Your truck kicks booty!
